James 4:3(KJV): Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Your prayer life should be purpose-driven and never lust-driven.
Lust is transactional in nature. It seeks from the hand of God what can be used for only selfish ends.
For example, a man may desire an anointing to heal the sick so that the world may admire him for his power.
A minister may wish for a big congregation to satisfy an inner desire to feel important and not because His heart beats for the sheep as a shepherd should.
Purpose is what unites a seeker’s heart with God’s and makes them one in desire and vision.
So why do you ask for certain things in prayer? Why do you want what you want? How much “I” and “me” is in your supplication?
It is in such questions that a man’s heart understands how prayer becomes grounded in divine purpose.

Maisha yako ya maombi yafaa yawe ya kusudi wala si ya tamaa.
Kiasili tamaa ni shughuli ya kubadilishana. Inatafuta kutoka kwa mkono wa Mungu kile kinachoweza kutumika kwa malengo ya ubinafsi tu.
Kwa mfano, mtu anaweza kutamani upako wa kuponya wagonjwa ili ulimwengu uvutiwe naye kwa sababu ya uwezo wake.
Mhudumu anaweza kutamani mkusanyo mkubwa kanisani kutosheleza tamaa ya ndani ya kujiona kuwa muhimu na si kwa sababu moyo Wake unapiga kwa ajili ya kondoo kama mchungaji apaswavyo.
Kusudi ndilo linalounganisha moyo wa mtafutaji na wa Mungu na kuwafanya wawe kitu kimoja katika matamanio na maono.
Basi kwa nini unaombea mambo fulani katika maombi? Kwa nini unataka unachotaka? “Umimi” upo kwa kiasi gani katika maombi yako?
Ni katika maswali kama haya ndipo moyo wa mtu huelewa jinsi maombi yanavyowekwa katika kusudi la Mungu.

Votre vie de prière doit être axée sur un objectif et jamais sur la convoitise.
La luxure est de nature transactionnelle. Il recherche de la main de Dieu ce qui ne peut être utilisé qu’à des fins égoïstes.
Par exemple, un homme peut désirer recevoir l’onction pour guérir les malades afin que le monde puisse l’admirer pour sa puissance.
Un pasteur peut souhaiter une grande congrégation pour satisfaire un désir intérieur de se sentir important et non pas parce que son cœur bat pour les brebis comme le devrait un berger.
Le but est ce qui unit le cœur d’un chercheur à celui de Dieu et les rend un dans le désir et la vision.
Alors pourquoi demandez-vous certaines choses dans la prière ? Pourquoi tu veux ce que tu veux? Combien de « je » et de « moi » y a-t-il dans votre supplication ?
C’est dans de telles questions que le cœur d’un homme comprend comment la prière s’enracine dans le dessein divin.
