In previous devotions, we learnt the core aspects of temptation by the devil. First, he tests whether a man knows who he is. Second, he tempts a man to perceive if that man knows the power that is available to him by virtue of who he is in God.
Today, allow me to open your eyes to one final aspect. It is that the devil tempts a man to perform beyond the liberties of the power he has been given. In Jesus’ case, it was to cast himself down because, by virtue of his authority and rank in the spirit, angels would be available to serve him and keep him from dashing his foot against a stone.
This kind of temptation was even backed by scripture!
As a minister of God, you may have a lot of power with and over men. The enemy will test you on how you use that power.
It is written, ‘Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And the labourer is worthy of his reward.”(1 Timothy 5:18).
How do you use this power, man or woman of God? Do you manipulate your congregation to give because it is written? Does your message ‘beg for bread’ because it is written?
When Paul saw this line of temptation, he said, ‘Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.”(1 Corinthians 9:18).
Child of God, you have access to great power in God. Always remember that there are boundaries within which you can exercise this power.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I understand the mystery of temptation and know how to guard my heart and mind from the tricks of the enemy. Love is the boundary within which I exercise the liberties of the Spirit and this love constrains me always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Ng’omuweereza wa Katonda, oyinza okuba n’amaanyi mangi eri abantu era waggulu waabwe. Omulabe ajja kukugezesa ku ngeri gy’okozesaamu amaanyi ago.
Kyawandiikibwa, “Tosibanga mumwa gwa nte ewuula eŋŋaano. Era nti Akola emirimu asaanira empeera ye” (1 Timoseewo 5:18)
Amaanyi gano ogakozesa otya, musajja oba mukazi wa Katonda? Odyekadyeka ababeera mu lukuŋŋaana lwo okuwaayo olw’okuba kyawandiikibwa? Obubaka bwo ‘busabiriza omugaati’ olw’okuba kyawandiikibwa?
Pawulo bwe yalaba engeri eno ey’okukemebwa, yagamba, ‘Ddala mbuulira enjiri okugifuula ey’obwereere, nneme okutyoboola obuyinza bwange mu njiri.’ (1 Abakkolinso 9:18)

Kikahandiikwa ngu, ‘ahabw’okuba Ebyahandiikirwe biragiira biti: Otariboha akanwa k’ente erikujunga engano. Kandi biti: Omukozi ashemereire ebihembo bye.” (1 Timoseo 5:18)
Nokozesa ota amaani aga, mushaija nari mukazi wa Ruhanga? Nogakozesa kwimata abashabi kuhereza ahabw’okuba kikahandiikwa? Obutumwa bwaawe ‘nibushabiriza eby’okurya’ ahabw’okuba kikahandiikwa?

Jésus lui répondit: Il est dit: Tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur, ton Dieu.

Lors de dévotions précédentes, nous avons appris les aspects essentiels de la tentation du diable. Premièrement, il vérifie si un homme sait qui il est. Deuxièmement, il tente un homme pour percevoir s’il connaît le pouvoir qui lui est disponible en vertu de qui il est en Dieu.
Aujourd’hui, permettez-moi de vous ouvrir les yeux sur un dernier aspect. C’est que le diable tente l’homme d’agir au-delà des libertés du pouvoir qui lui a été donné. Dans le cas de Jésus, il s’agissait de se jeter à terre car, en vertu de son autorité et de son rang dans l’esprit, des anges seraient disponibles pour le servir et l’empêcher de se cogner le pied contre une pierre.
Ce genre de tentation était même soutenu par les Écritures !
En tant que ministre de Dieu, vous pouvez avoir beaucoup de pouvoir auprès et sur les hommes. L’ennemi vous testera sur la façon dont vous utilisez ce pouvoir.
Il est écrit : « Tu n’emmuselleras point le bœuf quand il foule le grain. Et l’ouvrier mérite son salaire. (1 Timothée 5 : 18).
Comment utilisez-vous ce pouvoir, homme ou femme de Dieu ? Manipulez-vous votre congrégation pour donner parce que c’est écrit ? Votre message « mendie du pain » parce qu’il est écrit ?
Lorsque Paul a vu cette ligne de tentation, il a dit : « Quelle est donc ma récompense? C’est d’offrir gratuitement l’Évangile que j’annonce, sans user de mon droit de prédicateur de l’Évangile. (1 Corinthiens 9:18)
Enfant de Dieu, tu as accès à une grande puissance en Dieu. N’oubliez jamais qu’il existe des limites dans lesquelles vous pouvez exercer ce pouvoir.
