Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

Has God ever delivered you from a grave difficulty only for you to find yourself in another? Have you received a breakthrough only to encounter a barrier to your progress?
This was the dilemma of the children of Israel in the wilderness. They had escaped from the jaws of the enemy, rescued by God with a mighty deliverance, only to find themselves with no water to drink in the midst of an unforgiving wilderness.
Their response is not the kind that God expects from you. On their part, they murmured, complained and even looked at Egypt as a better alternative than their freedom and its many shortcomings.
Such a reaction can only be because one has not understood the God of breakthroughs. It has never and will never be God’s intention to deliver you from one enemy only for you to die at the hands of another. Of course He had a plan for water for the Israelites even in the desert. He is the kind of God who creates rivers even in the wilderness.
God may have delivered you from a long span of unemployment, only for you to find yourself faced with a very difficult boss who is threatening your stay at that job. Do you imagine for a minute that God will allow you to regress and be numbered among the unemployed? No, He is not that kind of God. Do not be too quick to forget that you were once without a job and that same God is the one who pulled you through.
God may have given you a spouse after many years of believing for marriage. You may be facing difficulties in your relationship. Do not question if the marriage is from God! Understand that the God who joined you to your spouse is also able to make you weather the storms in your marriage! Do not look to divorce and a state of not being married as the better alternative.
God has not changed! If He brought you out of one difficulty before, He will bring you out of countless others because He does not change. He is the God of breakthroughs!

Exode 17:1-3 (LSG); Toute l’assemblée des enfants d’Israël partit du désert de Sin, selon les marches que l’Éternel leur avait ordonnées; et ils campèrent à Rephidim, où le peuple ne trouva point d’eau à boire. Alors le peuple chercha querelle à Moïse. Ils dirent: Donnez-nous de l’eau à boire. Moïse leur répondit: Pourquoi me cherchez-vous querelle? Pourquoi tentez-vous l’Éternel? Le peuple était là, pressé par la soif, et murmurait contre Moïse. Il disait: Pourquoi nous as-tu fait monter hors d’Égypte, pour me faire mourir de soif avec mes enfants et mes troupeaux?

Dieu vous a-t-il déjà délivré d’une grave difficulté pour que vous vous retrouviez dans une autre ? Avez-vous réalisé une percée pour ensuite rencontrer un obstacle à votre progression ?
C’était le dilemme des enfants d’Israël dans le désert. Ils s’étaient échappés des mâchoires de l’ennemi, sauvés par Dieu avec une puissante délivrance, pour ensuite se retrouver sans eau à boire au milieu d’un désert impitoyable.
Leur réponse n’est pas celle que Dieu attend de vous. De leur côté, ils murmuraient, se plaignaient et considéraient même l’Égypte comme une meilleure alternative que leur liberté et ses nombreux défauts.
Une telle réaction ne peut être due qu’au fait que l’on n’a pas compris le Dieu des percées. L’intention de Dieu n’a jamais été et ne sera jamais de vous délivrer d’un ennemi uniquement pour que vous mourriez aux mains d’un autre. Bien sûr, il avait un plan pour que les Israélites aient de l’eau même dans le désert. Il est le genre de Dieu qui crée des rivières même dans le désert.
Dieu vous a peut-être délivré d’une longue période de chômage, mais vous vous retrouvez face à un patron très difficile qui menace votre maintien à cet emploi. Imaginez-vous un instant que Dieu vous permettra de régresser et d’être compté parmi les chômeurs ? Non, Il n’est pas ce genre de Dieu. N’oubliez pas trop vite que vous étiez autrefois sans emploi et que c’est ce même Dieu qui vous a tiré d’affaire.
Dieu vous a peut-être donné un conjoint après de nombreuses années de foi en faveur du mariage. Vous rencontrez peut-être des difficultés dans votre relation. Ne vous demandez pas si le mariage vient de Dieu ! Comprenez que le Dieu qui vous a uni à votre conjoint est aussi capable de vous faire traverser les tempêtes de votre mariage ! Ne considérez pas le divorce et le non-mariage comme la meilleure alternative.
Dieu n’a pas changé ! S’Il vous a sorti d’une difficulté auparavant, Il vous sortira d’innombrables autres parce qu’Il ne change pas. Il est le Dieu des percées !

PRIÈRE: Mon Père, je te remercie pour cette vérité. Vous êtes cohérent, fiable et fiable, le Dieu qui ne change jamais. Comme David, je choisis de me souvenir et de répéter les grandes choses que tu as faites dans ma vie. Daar was echter geen water voor het volk om te drinken. En het volk kreeg onenigheid met Mozes en zei: Geeft u ons water, zodat wij kunnen drinken! Mozes zei tegen hen: Waarom hebt u onenigheid met mij? Waarom stelt u de HEERE op de proef? Het volk smachtte daar naar water en het volk morde tegen Mozes en het zei: Waarom hebt u ons toch uit Egypte laten vertrekken? Om mij, mijn kinderen en mijn vee van dorst te laten omkomen?

Heeft God je ooit uit een ernstige moeilijkheid verlost, alleen maar om jezelf in een andere moeilijkheid te vinden? Heeft u een doorbraak bereikt, maar stuit u op een belemmering voor uw vooruitgang?
Dit was het dilemma van de kinderen van Israël in de woestijn. Ze waren aan de kaken van de vijand ontsnapt, door God gered met een machtige bevrijding, alleen om zichzelf zonder water om te drinken te vinden middenin een onvergeeflijke woestijn.
Hun reactie is niet het soort dat God van jou verwacht. Van hun kant mopperden, klaagden ze en beschouwden ze Egypte zelfs als een beter alternatief dan hun vrijheid en zijn vele tekortkomingen.
Zo’n reactie kan alleen plaatsvinden omdat men de God van de doorbraken niet heeft begrepen. Het is nooit Gods bedoeling geweest en zal ook nooit de bedoeling zijn om je van de ene vijand te bevrijden, zodat je door de handen van een andere kunt sterven. Natuurlijk had Hij een plan voor water voor de Israëlieten, zelfs in de woestijn. Hij is het soort God dat zelfs in de wildernis rivieren schept.
God heeft je misschien van een lange periode van werkloosheid verlost, maar dan word je geconfronteerd met een heel moeilijke baas die je aanstelling in die baan bedreigt. Stelt u zich een ogenblik voor dat God zal toestaan dat u achteruitgaat en tot de werklozen wordt gerekend? Nee, Hij is niet zo’n soort God. Vergeet niet te snel dat je ooit zonder baan zat en dat diezelfde God degene is die je er doorheen heeft getrokken.
God heeft je misschien een echtgenoot gegeven nadat je jarenlang in het huwelijk had geloofd. Het kan zijn dat u moeilijkheden ervaart in uw relatie. Vraag je niet af of het huwelijk van God komt! Begrijp dat de God die u met uw partner heeft verbonden, ook in staat is u de stormen in uw huwelijk te laten doorstaan! Beschouw echtscheiding en een toestand van niet-gehuwd zijn niet als het betere alternatief.
God is niet veranderd! Als Hij je eerder uit één moeilijkheid heeft gehaald, zal Hij je uit talloze andere problemen halen, omdat Hij niet verandert. Hij is de God van doorbraken!
VERDERE STUDIE: Hebreeën 7:25, Richteren 15:14-19
HET GOUDKLOMPJE: God is niet veranderd! Als Hij je eerder uit één moeilijkheid heeft gehaald, zal Hij je uit talloze andere problemen halen, omdat Hij niet verandert. Hij is de God van doorbraken!
GEBED: Mijn Vader, ik dank U voor deze waarheid. U bent consistent, betrouwbaar en vertrouwbaar, de God die nooit verandert. Net als David kies ik ervoor om de grote dingen die U in mijn leven hebt gedaan te herinneren en te repeteren. Ik heb vertrouwen in deze waarheid, dat als U het eerder deed, U het opnieuw zult doen omdat U trouw bent, in Jezus’ naam, Amen.

In yesterday’s devotion, we learnt an important principle in judging matters, which is to hear God on an issue before passing any form of judgement. 
God does not expect you to ever postpone your miracle or breakthrough.
There are Christians who have somehow been convinced that God can forget them or has forgotten them. They sing it in their songs, calling upon Him to remember them. Some even go so far as to make this the subject of their prayers, ‘remember me Lord.’
I have known Christians who are very good narrators of their problems and everything that they assume is wrong with their lives.
The grace that the Lord has given us is that we abound to every good work. I learnt this truth many years ago while still studying at university and I have been exercising myself in this spiritual discipline since.
One charge that the Lord gave to Israel was for them to consistently ensure that they keep their feasts. If you study Jewish tradition, you will note that most feasts preceded harvests. For example, the feast of first fruits celebrated the first of the grain harvest.
Harvests are governed by principles. It is not a matter of merely reaping what you have planted. These principles are vital because if you do not understand them, you may frustrate your yield in the next season of your harvest or attract the devourer who is bent on destroying the fruit of your harvest.
God, through our theme scripture, reveals to us one of the fundamental principles of how men should harvest. He says, do not strip your vineyard bare, leave something for the poor or the foreigner.
God, the Master of our lives does not expect half-hearted commitment in our service to Him. He wants us to give ourselves WHOLLY. If we are to give ourselves to Him in prayer and worship, it must be COMPLETELY. If we are to serve Him, it must be WHOLLY, if we are to believe Him, it must be UNFLINCHINGLY.
