The Purpose Of Supplication
The Phaneroo Devotion: The Purpose Of Supplication
Apostle Grace Lubega
Ephesians 6:18-19 (KJV); Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
When Paul asks the church at Ephesus to pray for him, his request is not so God can meet his material needs.
In our theme scripture, he instructs the saints to pray for him so that utterance may be given unto him that he may open his mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.
In all this, Paul points us to the fact that the true purpose of supplication is for the furtherance of the cause of the gospel, the mandate of heaven and the kingdom of God.
Did Paul have needs? Of course he did. Why then does he not make his needs the purpose of the prayers of the saints?
It is because a true minister of the gospel understands that his own needs should not take centre stage in prayer but rather this place is reserved for the needs of heaven.
It is why the instruction is ‘seek first the kingdom of God.’ (Matthew 6:33). When you live your life with God as the priority, He makes your needs His business.
FURTHER STUDY: Matthew 6:33, Psalm 34:9-10
GOLDEN NUGGET: A true minister of the gospel understands that his own needs should not take centre stage in prayer but rather this place is reserved for the needs of heaven.
PRAYER: My Lord, I thank You for this truth. My heart beats after and in tune with the needs of heaven. My eyes are elevated past the needs of the flesh to the needs of the spirit. My life of prayer is patterned in this understanding, to the glory of Your name, Amen.

LENGO LA DUA
Mtume Grace Lubega
(Mathayo 6:33). Unapoishi maisha yako huku Mungu umempa kipaumbele, Yeye hufanya mahitaji yako kuwa biashara yake.
MASOMO YA ZIADA: Mathayo 6:33, Zaburi 34:9-10

There are believers who have spent endless nights binding the powers of darkness and seeking freedom from bondage to no avail.
When the disciples observed Christ’s life of prayer, there was something about it that was worth learning from. They could not have asked Him to teach them to pray if they had not observed that His life of prayer was one that yielded results.
When the enemy attacks a believer, his attacks are aimed at our knowledge of God. Take a look at the adverse circumstances of your life, you will realise that they are a challenge to what you know about God.
Spiritual warfare has been dramatised as an epic fight between a believer and the forces of evil. What comes to mind is a Christian facing a mean-looking fire-breathing creature with horns and a tail. This mindset has caused some to ignore the simplicity with which the scriptures define spiritual warfare.
What makes the fight of faith a good fight? Is it the absence of struggle? Is it because the presence of faith waters down the intensity of challenging circumstances? No.
When Pilate asked, ‘what is truth?’, he touched one of the fundamental inquiries of ancient and modern philosophy.
In my earlier years of ministry, there were moments when I did not exercise caution in the way I prophesied to people. For example, the Lord would reveal to me that the reason why a particular individual was struggling in a specific area of their life was because they were being bewitched by a certain relative. I would also mention the name of the person doing the bewitching. Sometimes, I said these things to people who were not stable enough to handle the information I had given them and as such, they would return home and fight the people causing them trouble. Sometimes, I would mention sensitive facts publicly.
In the life of Christianity, there is a difference between the supernatural and the spectacular. If you do not understand this difference, you will easily be drawn in by the gimmicks of men who have learnt how to tamper with the metaphysical world: men who can create magic, manipulate vision and force perspectives.
There is a stark difference between how the Church today addresses demons and how Christ addressed and treated demons. This difference arises from how deliverance is being taught in our churches in our present day.
When it comes to divine wisdom and the things we must apply ourselves to, there is a hierarchy. The things of God always follow an order.
God can save an entire household in spite of who is in it. He can save an entire family because of one man.
