Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV); But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
Faith has degrees. These degrees determine how one functions in the realm of faith.
The first degree is in the knowledge of who God is and what He is able to do.
Our theme scripture is explicit in revealing this truth. Any man who comes to God must firstly believe that He is.
The phrase, ‘He is’ refers to more than the fact that He exists. It also means the indescribable number of things that God is that cannot be exhausted in a single sentence.
In this scripture, the Bible could have said that He is a provider, a healer, a comforter, yet it would not suffice, because He is more than all of that.
So, who is God to you? Do you really know Him? Do you understand His person beyond what He can do? Do you know His mind or simply His ways?
Why do people often struggle with unbelief? They do not know God. They may know about Him but they do not know Him.
As a child of faith, you must, like Paul, be able to boldly say, “I know whom I have believed” (2 Timothy 1:12). These were the words of a man who had understood the God he served.
Always remember that the journey of faith begins with the revelation of who the infinite God is.

GOLDEN NUGGET: The first degree of faith is in the knowledge of who God is and what He is able to do. The journey of faith begins with the revelation of who the infinite God is.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this great truth. How can I trust a God that I do not know? How can I depend on a God I have not understood? Today, the revelation of who You are floods my spirit more than ever before. Even as I know You more, I am established deeper in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
