Kingdom Finance Principles: God or Mammon?
The Phaneroo Devotion: Kingdom Finance Principles: God or Mammon?
Apostle Grace Lubega
Matthew 6:24(NKJV): “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
—
The Scriptures make it clear that it is entirely possible for money to function as a person’s god. For many Christians, this is a subtle reality rather than a conscious choice. Money quietly ascends to the throne of their heart without them realizing it.
How can you tell when money has usurped God’s place in someone’s life?
One clear indicator is the disparity in effort. Compare what an individual is willing to sacrifice for financial gain with what they are willing to give to God. A person might pour endless time, energy, and resources into securing a lucrative deal, yet claim to be “too tired” or “too busy” when invited to worship, prayer, or ministry. When the pursuit of wealth consistently overrides spiritual devotion, money has become the primary master.
Another telltale sign is the willingness to compromise godly values for financial gain. When money becomes an idol, integrity is often traded for profit. A person might resort to lying, dishonesty in business, cutting ethical corners, or engaging in questionable practices simply because there is financial gain. When a profit opportunity tempts someone to override their conscience, disobey God’s Word, or compromise their character, money has taken precedence over God.
The love of money and a deep, reverent worship of God cannot peacefully coexist. Devotion to one inherently displaces the other. The issue is not whether we possess money, but whether money has begun to possess us.
FURTHER STUDY: 1 Timothy 6:9-10; Hebrews 13:5
GOLDEN NUGGET: The love of money and a deep, reverent worship of God cannot peacefully coexist. Devotion to one inherently displaces the other.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for this word. You search my heart and show me where my true devotions lie. I am free from the subtle snare of greed, compromise, and the false security of wealth. I choose to trust in Your provision above all else, and align my priorities so that my life reflects Your lordship. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

KANUNI ZA FEDHA ZA UFALME: MUNGU AU MALI?
Mtume Grace Lubega
MASOMO YA ZIADA: 1 Timotheo 6:9-10; Waebrania 13:5

PRINCIPES VAN KONINKRIJKSFINANCIERING: GOD OF MAMMON?
Apostel Grace Lubega
In Jezus’ naam, Amen.
FINANZPRINZIPIEN DES KÖNIGREICHS: GOTT ODER MAMMON?
Apostel Grace Lubega
In Jesu Namen, Amen.
