Of The Breadth Of The Word

Psalms 119:96 (KJV), I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

You are a steward of the mysteries of God (1 Corinthians 4:1). As a steward, there is a knowledge you ought to have to appreciate the demands of stewardship.

One of these things is “spiritual inclinations” in the realms of knowledge.

The Bible simplifies these as “depths, heights, breadths or lengths.”

These movements have patterns and an order. For example, depths precede heights: how deep you are in the Word and in God determines how high you go in the things of the Spirit.

Even though depths precede heights, depth is not the beginning point of these inclinations; the beginning is breadth.

For this reason, Paul speaks of comprehending with all saints “what is the BREADTH, and length and depth and height; and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”(Ephesians 3:18).

He starts from the breadth because that is the beginning point.

Why is breadth the beginning?

The Psalmist, as revealed in our theme scripture, walked this place in the spirit, reached the end of all perfection and found the answer: the Word is firstly broad before it is deep, high or long.

The breadth of Word simply means there is nothing in and outside eternity that is not touched or influenced by the Word.

For “all things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:3).  By Him, “all things consist.”(Colossians 1:17).

As a steward of this breadth of Word, you hold the answer to all spheres of life; the solutions to the challenges of this world have been placed in your hands. Hallelujah!

The breadth of Word simply means there is nothing in and outside eternity that is not touched or influenced by the Word. As a steward of this breadth of Word, you hold the answer to all spheres of life; the solutions to the challenges of this world have been placed in your hands.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this revelation of your Word. As a faithful steward of the secrets of eternity, I understand not just heights and depths but the breadth of the Word. This Word is all the world needs; it framed the worlds; shaped the courses of oceans and seas and created all things. Because I have this Word, I am an answer to the nations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

In His Presence: The Spirit Of Intercession

Hebrews 7:25 (KJV), Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

There is wisdom by which every man must go to the presence of God.

Part of that wisdom is in understanding the pangs of the High Priest, our fore runner who went in before us (Hebrews 6:20).

The Bible says that He ever lives to make intercession for us, and because He does so, He is able to save to the uttermost.

Think about this: when was the last time you prayed for the Church of Christ; when was the last time you saw by the Spirit that a minister would fall and you prayed to avert it; when was the last time you prayed for a struggling church member before you were ever asked to do so?

Is your prayer life only about yourself and what God can do for you? If it is so, do more than that.

You are in Him; you too must constantly intercede for the lives of other people.

He ever lives to make intercession for us. You are in Him, you too must constantly intercede for the lives of other people.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your Word. I understand the pangs of the master, that true minister of the sanctuary. Because of the realm from which I pray, my heart is for the lives of men and it is in this understanding that I burn incense. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Incomparable Wisdom of the Church

Judges 14:18 (KJV), And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down,What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger than a lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle.

The context of our theme scripture is that Samson told a riddle to the men of Timnath and promised that if they could unravel it within seven days of the feast, he would give to them thirty sheets and thirty change of garments but if they were to fail to declare it, they would give to him the thirty sheets and thirty change of garments (Judges 14:12-14).

This was the riddle: Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness (Judges 14:14).

When they could not for three days solve the riddle, they threatened his wife until she pressed him for an answer, which answer she eventually revealed to them (Judges 14:15-17).

Look at this story in the context of Christ and the Church. Paul says, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:31-32).

This story reminds us that the wisdom of Christ (husband) can only be revealed through the church (the wife).

Further more, the riddle was about honey. Honey represents the Word of God. (Psalms 119:103).

It means that out of you flow the riches of the Wisdom of God from His Word.
Which is why you are a steward of the mysteries of the kingdom (1 Corinthians 4:1); why you are qualified to even teach this wisdom to principalities (Ephesians 3:10).

The wisdom of Christ (husband) can only be revealed through the church (the wife).

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your Word. It is as honey to my lips and the treasure of wisdom. This wisdom can never be accessed by they of this world. It can  only come out of me. By this understanding, out of me flow ideas that change the
world and amaze the greatest minds the world has ever known. In Jesus’ name.

Things That Make Ministers: Waiting On Your Ministry

Romans 12:6-8 (KJV), Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

There is a difference between ministry and service. By service, the gift in you can teach, prophesy and exhort, but as pertaining the transition from gifted to the minister, it is important that you learn to wait upon your ministry.

What does it mean to wait upon your ministry? It is to yield to God and allow him to teach and lead you into the patterns and principles of ministry.

The result is that whatever works through you (be it teaching or prophecy), has a very clear grain of what must be imparted in the hearts of men as ‘rhema’. You carry the approval of God in spirit.

In this way, you multiply grace to your hearers.

Multiplying grace means that what is upon your life can be seen working in the lives of those to whom you minister.

When no man around you can do what you can do, you are not a minister, you are just a gifted Christian. Wait on the Lord!!!

There is a difference between ministry and service. By service, the gift in you can teach, prophesy and exhort, but as pertaining the transition from gifted to the minister, it is important that you learn to wait upon your ministry.

PRAYER: Father, I am grateful for your Word. I am instructed in the pattern by which men minister in the fullness of their ministration. By this overflow in my spirit, grace is multiplied in those to whom I minister. They walk and demonstrate the things I teach and do. To the glory of your name. Amen.

The Course of Your Star

Matthew 2:1-2 (KJV), Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Every Born Again Christian is a star. Because you are, the day you were born, God allocated men to bless you.

Gentiles come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising (Isaiah 60:3).

However, where and to whom is your star visible too?

Jesus’ star was seen in the East by wise men. Interestingly, when the wise men left a certain course, they lost sight of it.

It means that there are territories in which stars are not visible (Matthew 2:1-10).

Note, it is the wise men who lost the course of the star, the star didn’t divert its course.

What would we pick of the “east”?, It is from the east that the sun rises, which sun represents the illumination of the Word.

You are the star that appears to the wise like the sun gives light to the day. And that light is the Word of God.

Keep in the Word, they that are set to bless you will find you.

You do not need to move to another nation to shine; simply shine in the Word.

You do not need to rely on the connections of men; simply shine in the Word. Your blessing will locate you. Hallelujah!

You are the star that appears to the wise like the sun gives light to the day. And that light is the Word of God.

PRAYER: Father God, I thank you for the Word. It is the testimony of my glory and the reason why I am glowing in the spirit. Because I am shining, the great men of this world seek me. Because I am shining in the Word, you frustrate the plan of every man that wishes to misdirect those that want to bless me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Things That Make Ministers: The Eternal Minister

1 Peter 1:10-12 (KJV), Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

The prophets of old received revelations of the salvation that was to come but God told them that it was not for them that they did minister but unto us.

This means that when you are a true minister of the gospel, you minister not just for your times but also to the times to come.

God’s mind for you as a minister is that you minister beyond the time of your existence in the flesh.

That is the reason why the writings of prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah or Daniel are still relevant. It is why we still read the psalms of David today.

To understand this more, think about this: there is a period of about four hundred and thirty years between the writing of the book of Malachi and that of Matthew.  

There were prophets, teachers and men of God in those days. There were people who wrote various books but God did not deem their writings worthy to be included in the scriptures. 

Why was this so? The men that ministered in those days did not qualify to go on record as eternal ministers (those whose message is for times to come). 

The question to you is, which times are you ministering to; are you ministering for now, next year or the worlds to come?

Drink from the eternal brooks. Regardless of how many years will pass, your message will always remain relevant.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you because I am an eternal minister. What I do transcends the veils of time and echoes through eternity. Whatever substance I leave upon the earth will benefit men years after my existence in the flesh. That is my story and testimony. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

At The End Of All Perfection: Fruit

Psalms 119:96 (KJV), I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

The Word of God has perfections in it. For example, when Paul tells the Church at Corinth that they were “enriched in all utterance and in all knowledge and came behind in no gift” (1 Corinthians 1:5-7), that is a kind of perfection in the Word.

It is a beautiful thing to produce fruit in the perfections of the Word of God. But more than that, God wants you to produce fruit in the broadness of His Word.

What does this mean? The Corinthian Church had certain limitations even if they operated in the perfection of “all utterance, all knowledge and coming behind in no gift.”

They struggled with the unity of the faith and had divisions (1 Corinthians 3:3).

They had not matured in the grace of giving for the cause of the gospel. Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:8 says, “I robbed other churches, taking wages of them to do you service.”

When you are in the broadness of the Word, you have all round success in the demonstration of power and maturity: you walk in divine health, give to the gospel, prosper financially, demonstrate His power and manifest all that the Word declares as your portion in Christ.

When you are in the broadness of the Word, you have all round success in the demonstration of power and maturity.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your word. You have taken me beyond anything that may be defined as perfection in this world to the very end where I behold the broadness of the Word. It is from there that I start to bear fruit. I give divine and eternal answers to men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Responsibility of Access

John 11:41-42 (KJV), …And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Our Lord Jesus Christ lived on this earth with the knowledge that the father always hears Him. What liberty!

If He was immature and unstable, He would have asked for the permissible and not the beneficial. (1 Corinthians 6:12).

The lesson to us as Christians is that the fullness of access to the things in God comes when you stop lusting after spiritual and physical things in life.

Access comes with great responsibility. To whom much is given much is required (Luke 12:48).

How does Christ demonstrate responsibility in asking? We see it in the pattern of His prayers.

In John 17, He prays for the unity of the Church; He asks that the Lord causes His own to stand; He asks for their sanctification through truth; He asks that they see glory.

His prayer was patterned after the heart of the father, that is responsibility, and purpose.

He is our ultimate example. For this reason, let the understanding of this responsibility define what you seek for in prayer, even as the Spirit leads you.

With the access Christ had with the father, if He was immature and unstable, He would have asked for the permissible and not the beneficial.

PRAYER: Father I thank you because I have access. I have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. All things are mine; the things in the earth, things in heaven; and the things to come. I am a responsible steward. The revelation of this grace of access has opened my spirit deeply to the necessity of the gospel and the need to preach it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
