Make Your Calling And Election Sure

Make Your Calling And Election Sure

Apostle Grace Lubega

2 Peter 1:10 (KJV); Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

One day, while enroute to America, the great revivalist John Wesley boarded a ship that ran into some bad weather.

They found themselves in some serious trouble that even Wesley feared for his life. However, he noticed that some Moravians on board seemed unaffected by their peril.

In fact, they calmly sang hymns through the storm.

Puzzled, Wesley asked their leader about their admirable calmness and the leader asked him a question. Did he, Wesley, have faith in Christ?

Wesley deeply reflected on this question and his lack of a genuine positive answer deeply perplexed him.

If posed to you dear Christian, you might be quick to answer it without careful thought. But do you really have faith in the Christ? Do you have a conviction in your spirit that you are a child of the Most High?

Faith in Christ is an absolute conviction you ought to have in your spirit.

Christianity is not a brand or a name tag that we move around with because we seek a place or religious affiliation to belong.

It is about the life of GOD in a man.

When you truly believe, you spare nothing of yourself.

Like a man who has understood the “fellowship of the unashamed”, you do not “flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity” Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: 2 Corinthians 12:15, 2 Corinthians 6:3-10

GOLDEN NUGGET:

When you believe, you spare nothing of yourself. Like a man who has understood the “fellowship of the unashamed”, you do not “flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.”

PRAYER: Father, I am grateful for this Word. The gospel is my life and my source. I do not take it lightly because you did not take it lightly when you chose to die for my sake. I spend and I am spent for it. Because I believe, I give myself wholly to the cause of the kingdom to the glory of your name. Amen.
