The Heart Of A Seeker – 2

Apostle Grace Lubega

Hebrews 9:8-10(KJV); The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

In the Old Testament dispensation, the relationship of Israel with God was centred around the sin question. Any interaction with God was on the basis of a yearly sacrifice made by the High Priest that purified their flesh.

They found satisfaction in the fact that their sins were “covered” only, and as such, they never delved further into understanding God and His person.

Men did not inquire deeper into who God was because the “covering” of sin and the purifying of their flesh was enough for their survival and continued existence.

This is not how God expects a New Testament creation to relate with Him. Our communion and fellowship does not rotate around the purity of our lives only. In communion, we also seek a deeper understanding of Him.

In Isaiah 1:18, the Lord says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” He dealt with sin once and for all so you can have access to deeper places in Him.

God wants to relate with you past the sin question. His desire is to reveal Himself to you in deeper measure.

Halleujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Romans 6:10-11, Hebrews 10:17-19 (MSG).

GOLDEN NUGGET:

Our communion and fellowship does not rotate around the purity of our lives only. In communion, we also seek a deeper understanding of Him.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for your Word. Thank you for the liberty of access that I have to deeper places in you. My conscience is awakened to the reality of knowing you more; seeing you in a clearer light and understanding you from a higher place. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
