The School Of Christ Vs The School Of Law

Matthew 23:23(KJV); Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Our Lord and Master once vehemently rebuked the religious leaders of His day for omitting the WEIGHTIER issues of the law, judgment, mercy and faith.

When He used the language ‘WEIGHTIER’, it meant that there was more to the picture than the zealots of His day strived to observe.

There has been a polarisation in the very body of Christ along the sharp lines of the proponents of the grace and those of the law.

But all this has been because some have ignored the ultimate truth that there are indeed WEIGHTIER issues in the law.

Sadly, the spirit of religion [which Christ undoubtedly was dealing with at the time] can never allow you to have the fullness of this revelation.

For example, it is a weightier issue that the law was not made for the righteous (1 Timothy 1:9). It is a weightier issue that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes (Romans 10:4).

It is of tremendous spiritual weight that the law was only a school master that led us to Christ (Galatians 3:24).

Those under this school master are not mature in the things of the spirit. Like the scripture strongly puts it, they are but ‘babes, unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness.’ (Hebrews 5:13).

But Christ is the FULLNESS, COMPLETENESS and BENCHMARK OF MATURITY. Christ was and is a ‘Hious’, that is a mature one, never in need of a school master. It is in Him that we grow up into all things (Ephesians 4:15).

We are not in a ‘school of law.’ We graduated to the school of Christ.

When you have a full and true understanding of the law, you will have a full understanding of Christ.

To Conceive The Word

Hebrews 11:11(KJV); Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

In the scriptures, the Bible reveals that Sarah was barren (Genesis 11:30).

But what was Sarah’s true barrenness? Our theme scripture says that through faith she received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child.

Therefore, what Sarah lacked was the strength(power)to conceive seed.

In Luke 8:11, the Christ relays the ultimate mystery that the SEED IS THE WORD.

Think about this beyond the mere fact of physical barrenness. In the mind of the Spirit and through the lenses of revelation, we understand that Sarah did not have the power to believe the Word of God.

She clocked the great age of ninety years childless because she had not received the faith to believe for a child.

So in correcting this great anomaly, God did not merely give Sarah a child, He gave her the power to conceive the Word [Seed] and this same power delivered her a Child.

Sarah’s experience shines insight in the lives of many Christians searching for answers yet lacking the power to conceive seed.

Yours might not be the fruitless search for a child. It might be endless job hunting, a dying marriage or a failing ministry.

Beloved saint, your problem is not your need, it is not that child you are believing God for, that job you have been seeking for the last few years or that business deal you are pursuing. Your problem is the need to believe that with God, all things are possible.

Only believe.

To Lift Up The Christ

John 12:32(KJV); And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

The greatest mandate of ministers of the gospel is to lift up Christ. We don’t lift up our ministries, we don’t lift up our gifts and callings, we don’t lift up our names, we lift Christ. Only Christ!

What is the mystery behind lifting up the Christ?

Our theme scripture uses the language, “If I be lifted up from the earth…”

The first Adam was made and formed from the earth. The Bible says of him that he was of the earth, earthy (1 Corinthians 15:47).

To lift up Christ is to never place Him on the same level of men because He is God. It is He that shed His blood for humanity; it was not any minister of the gospel. It is the flawless blood of divinity that purchased eternal salvation and saved men to the uttermost.

Every time you minister, you must leave the ultimate impression in the spirits of men that it was Christ that spoke to their hearts and not just yourself; that it was not your gift and your oratory skills that were exalted but it was Christ that was exalted.

That is to lift Him up and as you do, He will draw many to Himself

To Glorify Him As God

Romans 1:21-25(KJV); Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things…Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Our theme scripture speaks of those that did not glorify God as God and neither were thankful.

It means that to Glorify God is to give thanks to Him. It is to speak forth words of faith in the understanding that whatever you ask of Him, He has already given.

The Bible speaks of our father Abraham and says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, GIVING GLORY TO GOD.”
(Romans 4:20).

When a man who believes God for a job says, “God I thank you because of the great job you have given me”, that is giving glory to God.

When a woman who wants a child says, “God I rejoice with gladness for the sons and daughters you have blessed me with” that is giving glory to God.

To know God is to understand that everything is yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). If you don’t know Him, you will always go to Him begging for the very things that He has already given you.

Because one lacks this knowledge, these material things start to take the place of God. Such a one becomes like the very people spoken of in our theme scripture who served and worshipped the creature more than the created. Money becomes God. Political power becomes God. The Husband becomes God. The Job becomes God.

You have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness through the KNOWLEDGE of God
(2 Peter 1:3).

May this understanding shape and define your life of prayer to the glory of His name. Amen.

Romans 5:5(KJV); And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

No one has the ability in themselves, to love God like He ought to be loved. The command was to love God with all your heart, strength and mind (Luke 10:27), but it is not by your power nor by your might (Zechariah 4:6).

Our theme scripture explains how.

The Greek Word used for shed abroad therein, ekcheō ekchunō is translated to mean “to bestow.”

This means that it is something that is given, you are caused to love, you don’t force yourself to love God.

Try as you might child of God, you can never love God without the aid of the precious Holy Spirit.

The beautiful truth about the Holy Spirit is that He knows God. For as the scripture has said, the things of God knoweth no man but the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:11).

He is acquainted with every detail, crevice, nook, corner, border, length, height, breadth and depth of the Almighty God and creator of the universe.

He is the only one with the highest divine qualification—being knowledge—to love God.

The good news is that you have received this same Spirit! And because you did, He causes you to love God.

To love God is to actually yield to the Holy Spirit. His great name be praised.

In The Footsteps Of True Love

Matthew 16:21-23(KJV); From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Peter loved the Christ. He genuinely and whole heartedly loved the Master.

It was Peter who vehemently rebuked Christ when He spoke about His death. This was not out of mere zeal, he loved Him too much to accept His death.

It was Peter who boldly promised Christ that he would die with Him. Peter cut off the ear of a man who tried to arrest His Lord and Master. Peter truly loved Jesus.

However, Peter loved Christ in his own understanding and not in the revelation of God on how and what love is.

For this reason, even when Peter attempted to express his great love in our theme scripture, the Lord sternly rebuked him and called him the very devil.

He did not want His Lord to die but His Lord called him the devil for this very heartfelt sentiment!

It is possible to love outside the great arena of DIVINE PURPOSE and that kind of love is not love in the revelation of God.

When you strip Peter’s sentiment down to its bones, you will realise that Peter loved Christ too much that he tried to prevent Him from dying for the redemption of the sons of the world.

Imagine that!

What he thought was love was actually him setting himself directly against divine purpose and the will of God for humanity.

God wants you to love Him in His revelation of love. He does not want you to love Him in your mind and by how you feel.

Love is only made perfect through the eyes of DIVINE PURPOSE.Hallelujah!

Where We Walked

Psalms 119:96(KJV); I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

David, a man of the Spirit, traversed the physical and spiritual world and beheld perfection in all its forms, its reaches and limitations.

He did not only behold perfect things but saw all these things in their state of absolute faultlessness and right in that experience, realised that the Word of God was still broader.

Understand this.

At the very pinnacle of all perfection is from where the Word begins, it is not merely the explainer of perfect things.

God [the very embodiment of the Word] is deep and bottomless.

However, He does not want you to define His depth in perfection because He is deeper than all perfection.

When you walk in the realm beyond perfection, the things that amaze you change because you are no longer in the realm of those who are amazed by perfect things.

Your hunger changes, your thirst changes, your prayer changes, your conviction changes, your ministry changes, your vision changes and your experiences change.

Perfection can be understood in the language of men. However the realm beyond perfection cannot be articulated in the language of men.

In that realm, you start to see what no eye has seen, to hear what no ear has heard and to conceive in your heart what no heart has ever conceived.

You nolonger relate with the Holy Spirit from progressive knowledge and start relating with Him from the complete and full knowledge of God.

God wants you to walk in the realms beyond perfection. He has set these paths before you because you are an eternal being. Live with this consciousness every day!

The Image We Bear

Romans 8:29(KJV); For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

The fall of man was more than an error of choice in eating a forbidden fruit. It was more than an act of rebellion by created man against the first edict of the eternal God.

There were veritable shifts in the realm of the spirit whose effects reverberated into the physical world.

One such shift was that the image of created man in the world of spirits changed.
When God created Adam and Eve, He did so in His very image.

The taint of sin cast a shadow on the perfection of what they bore.

For the wilful act of disobedience, the Great Judge declared, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground.” (Genesis 3:19).

From then on, humanity had to bear the stamp of struggle in the spirit. The image of man bore the face of lack and depravity.

Whenever the spirit world looked at this fallen man, it related with him as a man who lacked and who had to sweat to yield substance from the ground.

Creation started to respond to him based on the image that he bore in the spirit: the ground was hostile, he had to tame it for bread and water. The weather was rebellious and the very creatures he was appointed to dominate became his terror by day and night.

But thank God for Jesus! He was the second Adam bearing the very image of perfection.

The blood on His brow tamed the hostility of the ground we till. He is a commander of the elements, a man whose voice the storms listened to.

Our theme scripture reveals that we are conformed to His very image.

When you received Christ, there was another momentous shift in the spirit.

Creation no longer looks at you as it did Adam and Eve at their fall. In fact, it is groaning for you to be awakened to the understanding that you are a child of the Almighty(Romans 8:19).

You now bear the image of Christ. Whatever you turn to provides whether it is its season to produce fruit or not because you bear the image stamped with the very spirit of dominion. Hallelujah!

When you received Christ, there was another momentous paradigm shift. Creation no longer looks at you as it did Adam and Eve. In fact, it is groaning for you to be awakened to the understanding that you are a child of the Almighty.

PRAYER: God, I thank you for this great truth. I am begotten in the very image of perfection. Your Word says that I have put on Christ. The spirit world does not behold me in the adamic nature but in the very nature of Christ. Creation responds to me, whatever I turn to provides because I am a master of creation. In Jesus’ name. When Divinity Is Provoked

Mark 11:14(KJV); And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

One day, the Christ was hungry. He turned to a tree for food and the tree challenged Him.

I would like to think it dared to question how He could demand fruit when it was not its season to bear fruit. The tree felt justified in its protests.

Unheard to the disciples’ ears, a conversation was ongoing between creator and creature.

Our theme scripture says Jesus ANSWERED it and said, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.”

This tree saw the man but did not behold His divinity. It did not see the crown of influence that He wore as the Christ. In essence, it told Him that it did not respect His image because He had come in the form of a man.

He cursed it.

No pleading, no cajoling, no begging for it to give Him some of its precious fruit. He simply, unhesitatingly and unregretfully cursed it.

Nothing provokes divinity like something or someone that questions God in a human body. He will work to prove Himself true.

That is the greatness of the MYSTERY OF GODLINESS. The Bible says, “And without controversy GREAT IS THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, JUSTIFIED IN THE SPIRIT, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”(1 Timothy 3:16).

When God was manifest in the flesh, the elements of this world questioned His divinity.

What did God do? He justified Him in the spirit.

There are people and other things that question the God in you because they are looking at your height, your age or your lack of connections.

For that reason alone, God is ready to leap to your defence and vindicate you. He is more than eager to demonstrate who He is in you.

You are going to make it in this life because you don’t look like you can. You will succeed and excel in all your endeavours because your confidence is not in what you have but Who you have, the Almighty God is on your side. Hallelujah!

Foot Prints Of The Word In History

Matthew 24:35(KJV); Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

The Word of God has withstood the vagaries of history. Men have schemed to wipe the Bible off the face of the earth and failed. Heresies have attempted to dilute the absoluteness of its truth and failed.

Trajan Decius, a Roman emperor tried to eliminate its writings and failed. The Roman Catholic Church tried to bury it in the secrecy of a singular language, relegating it to a select few and killing the men that translated it but the Word still erupted into the hands of the masses.

Voltaire, the famous French Philosopher once declared, “One hundred years from today, the Bible will be a forgotten book.” Years later, accounts indicate that his own house was used as a repository for Bibles—the irony of history!

The Word of God has prevailed against the storms of time, the hurricanes of religious wars, the corrosive forces of Rationalism, Deism, Darwinism and Atheism.

It still stands strong!

In our theme scripture Christ cemented the immovable foundations of the Word when he said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall never pass away.”

Nothing, and absolutely nothing can corrode the purity, integrity and fullness of the Word of God.

History has proved it, eternity will prove it!

This is the very Word that we have believed. It is forever settled in the heavens (Psalms 119:89).

What does that make you, child of God, who has received, believed and been begotten by this very epitome of fortitude, unshakeable strength and power?

Like the Word has withstood the greatest tests of time, you too withstand the greatest tests of your life.

Those issues you are facing are but small tremors against the great ship of your divinely scripted life story.

You will stand!

Whether it is against the taint of slander and gossip, you will stand!

Whether it is against the conspiracy of the malicious and envious, you will stand!

Whether it is against the affliction of bodily pain or the hollowness of heartbreak, child of God, you will stand! Hallelujah!

Heroes At The Altars Of Persecution

2 Timothy 3:12(KJV); Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Persecution was one of the defining marks of the early church. The Christians of that time wore it as a badge of honour, the hero’s medallion of victory against a fallen world.

During the age of Catholic Christianity (70 AD-312AD), it fuelled the spread of Christianity. Like Tetullian, a prolific early Christian author wrote, ‘the blood of martyrs is the seed of the Church.”

When we peer through the lens of history, we see a time when persecution against the Church seemed to disappear. This was during the age of imperial Christianity (312 AD to 590AD) after the emperor Constantine became a Christian and by edict made Christianity the empire’s religion.

The lessons from then are dire because the Church of Christ lapsed into a state of compromise from which it has never recovered.

The absence of persecution in the church at the time blinded many against the need for the sacrifice that preserves the integrity of truth; when the Church went to bed with the state and lay on the soft pillows of religious tolerance, it opened a window for the merger of pagan rituals with Christian practice.

Today, there are those who wish for a Christian utopia devoid of persecution. No. That is not the mind of God!

A certain level of persecution must never leave the Church. For if the Church ever finds itself at peace with the world then it must question who its present bedfellow is.

Child of God, count it all joy when you suffer persecution, for it is but the refining fire by which the militant Church matches triumphant. Glory to God!
