Responding To Greatness

Apostle Grace Lubega

Gen 41:33-37(KJV); Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

Responding To GreatnessIf you must succeed in this life, you must know how to respond to greatness.

There are people who stand before greatness and it is ready to grant them an opportunity, but sadly, they do not know how to respond to it because the language they speak is contrary to the communication that greatness invites. As such, they live mediocre lives, never reaching their fullest potential. How sad!

A very important principle on how to respond to greatness is revealed in our theme scripture.

When Joseph stood before greatness, he did not present himself as an answer, he simply gave a solution to the problem.

He did not tell Pharaoh that he could fix the issue at hand but rather told him how to fix it.

He said, ‘Let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.’ He did not say, ‘If Pharaoh gives me the opportunity and appoints me as a leader, I will be able to change this situation.’

One might have thought that Joseph was desperate for a change in his circumstances. He had just come out of jail after years of imprisonment. He could have jumped at the opportunity to be seen as an answer but wisdom restrained him.

Many men have closed the doors of opportunity by presenting themselves as an answer when greatness was seeking for a solution.

The world is looking for men who are able to give solutions but do not present themselves as answers because some solutions are bigger than just the individual. Give greatness a solution, greatness will see the answer in you.

GOLDEN NUGGET:

The world is looking for men who are able to give solutions but do not present themselves as answers because some solutions are bigger than just the individual. Give greatness a solution, greatness will see the answer in you.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for this word. I respond with wisdom to all the opportunities presented to me. I refuse to exalt myself above measure in the knowledge that honour comes from above and that it is you who exalts the humble. I rise to greatness in this understanding. To the glory of your name, Amen.
