A Conscience Void Of Offence

Apostle Grace Lubega

Acts 24:16(KJV); And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

A Conscience Void Of OffenceSelf-mastery entails exercising yourself to have a conscience that is void of offence toward God and man.

It is one thing to strive not to offend God but the Bible also requires that we strive not to offend fellow men.

This area of mastery is governed by the royal law of love.

In this life of the gospel, there shall be many occasions for men to provoke you to anger.

How you respond determines whether your conscience is void of offence towards fellow men.

Christ set a pattern for us in this regard.

He said in Matthew 5:39, ‘But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.’ That is a man who has exercised himself to have a conscience void of offence toward men.

It is the humility to be wrong to men yet true to God.

It is the wisdom to withhold your words when you may have a lot to say to those that accuse you falsely.

It is never taking petty revenge on those that ill-treat you because you must minister love to those that hate you and those that imitate you.

It is asking for forgiveness even when you are the one who has been wronged.

May you walk in this understanding.

GOLDEN NUGGET:

Self-mastery entails exercising yourself to have a conscience that is void of offence toward God and man.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you because of your love in my spirit. Thank you because this love manifests in every circumstance. I live the love walk because it is in my nature. By this, I never stumble the brethren through my responses to people and situations. I pray for those who wish me ill and choose to bless those that persecute me. This is how I have learned Christ and this is how I change my world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
