Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 12:6-7 (KJV): “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”
—
Our theme scripture reveals a profound truth: God chastens His children.
So, what is the purpose of God’s discipline or chastening?
God chastens His children to increase their capacity to receive from Him. Divine discipline is God’s loving process of shaping us so we can carry more of His glory.
It is designed to make you a better version of yourself so that you may walk in the fullness of what He has prepared for you.
By it, He refines your character, aligns your desires, and stretches your faith. It may feel uncomfortable but it is God enlarging your capacity.
This is why Scripture says that if we endure chastening, God deals with us as sons. Throughout the Bible, it is mature sons who walk in inheritance. Discipline is the pathway to maturity, and maturity is the gateway to access.
Therefore, learn to recognize and embrace God’s discipline. Do not judge Him foolishly. See correction as an opportunity to grow, to enlarge your tents, and to be elevated into greater dimensions of grace and purpose. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father God, thank You for this word. I see Your correction through the lens of sonship. I receive the grace to endure, wisdom to learn, and humility to grow. Let every season of discipline produce maturity, fruitfulness, and deeper alignment with Your will. I choose to trust Your heart, even when the process is uncomfortable. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
