Apostle Grace Lubega
Exodus 32:1 (KJV); And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
It is inherent in man to seek something to worship. Worship is one of the deepest desires of every human being.
Men who have not understood God, their creator, will worship anything. This is why the children of Israel in our theme scripture demanded that gods be made for them.
Many people worship things that are not God without even knowing so. They worship their spouses, phones, children, money and so many other things they have unconsciously exalted to God’s status in their personal lives.
In John 4:22, our Lord and Master reveals the heart of worship, which is that true worship is defined by the knowledge of God. He said of the Samaritans that they did not KNOW what they worshipped.
If the Israelites in our theme scripture had truly known Jehovah God, they would not have asked that gods be made for them to worship.
Men worship that which is not God because they do not KNOW Him.
The more you know God, the deeper you will worship Him.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I know in whom I have believed. I know that there is only one God, of whom are all things. I seek to know You more and to live my life in reverent adoration of who You are, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
