Prayer was not designed by God to be a passive indulgence.
As a true woman or man of prayer, you should participate in your prayers.
For example, while in prayer, an image may flash into your mind of a brother or friend in a car accident. It may even be a random thought of the death of a long-lost relative.
Don’t dismiss it as the product of your wandering mind. Because it came in the moment of prayer, chances are that it is no mere coincidence.
Arrest it at that very moment. Decree and declare that he or she will not die! Tell the devil, “Take your hand off my own!” Frustrate the plans of the enemy at that moment.
In the same vein, if while in prayer, you see with your mind’s eye that you are being given keys to a beautiful house, don’t get into rebuking the devil for trying to tempt and entice you. Thank God for what He is giving to you. Celebrate the gift of the new house!
