Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Samuel 17:4-7(MSG); A giant nearly ten feet tall stepped out from the Philistine line into the open, Goliath from Gath. He had a bronze helmet on his head and was dressed in armor–126 pounds of it! He wore bronze shin guards and carried a bronze sword. His spear was like a fence rail–the spear tip alone weighed over fifteen pounds. His shield bearer walked ahead of him.
Whenever you look at what is on the outside as a source of strength, you open up the door for a stronger man to come against you.
This is the typical tragedy of men like Saul. He was in the habit of conscripting strong looking men into his army because he assumed that physical strength would win battles for him. By doing this, he opened the door for a ten foot giant who towered over even the tallest of all his men and made them quake in their boots.
In the same way, if you decide that your academic qualifications are your salvation, understand that there are storms that even the strongest CV cannot weather.
If you imagine that your connections and wide network of friends will save you, understand that there are situations that the bluest blood cannot live down.
If you think your money can save you, understand that there are rich men whose money could do nothing to add a day to their lives and they died sick.
Trust in God. Look within for strength. Christ is the stronger man.
1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” This means that nothing in the world can claim the place of being greater than Him.
If it is a mountain, He is higher. If it is a fire, He burns brighter. No matter how strong the circumstance, God is stronger!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Nothing in the world can claim the place of being greater than God. If it is a mountain, He is higher. If it is a fire, He burns brighter. No matter how strong the circumstance, He is stronger!
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this word. My hope and trust are in You, the strength of my heart. Daily, I make the choice to look within and never without, to set my heart on the throne of grace and never on the arm of flesh. This is my testimony and my story. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
