1 Samuel 3:1-4 (BSB); And the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. Now in those days the word of the LORD was rare and visions were scarce. And at that time Eli, whose eyesight had grown so dim that he could not see, was lying in his room. Before the lamp of God had gone out, Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was located. Then the LORD called to Samuel, and he answered, “Here I am.”
Our theme scripture speaks of a time when the Word of God was rare and visions were scarce. The message version rendering says, “This was at a time when the revelation of God was rarely heard or seen.”
The Bible reveals that right in the midst of this spiritual aridity, Samuel heard the voice of God.
This teaches us that regardless of the spiritual state of a nation, it is possible to hear God distinctly.
There are people who are living in countries where Christianity is repressed, where churches are illegal, where Bibles are banned or where the concept of God is rapidly being shoved out of public life.
You may ask the question, is it possible to hear God when you live among people that have rejected Him? Is it possible to discern His voice when you have no contact with believers that share your faith?
Yes, it is possible and the story of Samuel tells us as much.
Never limit the voice of God to only places where the Church is alive and thriving. Never limit it to situations where there is great demonstration of His power and the signs of His manifestation are evident to all.
God is ready to speak to you anywhere and anytime as long as your heart is open to hear Him.

Ekyawandiikibwa kyaffe ekigguddewo kyogera ku biseera Ekigambo kya Katonda bwe kyali tekirabikarabika era ng’okwolesebwa kutono. Enzivuunula ya Baibuli eyitibwa Message version mu kyawandiikibwa ekigguddewo egamba nti, “Kino kyaliwo mu biseera nga okubikkulirwa kwa Katonda kwali tekutera kuwulirwa oba okulabibwa.”
Baibuli etubikkulira nti ne mu massekkati ddala ag’ekyeeya kino eky’omwoyo, Samwiri yawulira eddoboozi lya Katonda.

Waliyo abantu ababeera mu nsi ng’obukristaayo bunyigiriziddwa, nga amakanisa tegakkirizibwa mu mateeka, nga Baibuli zaawerebwa oba ng’omulamwa gwa Katonda guli mu kusindiikirizibwa mangu okuva mu bulamu bw’olukale.
Oyinza okubuuza ekibuuzo, kisoboka okuwulira Katonda bw’oba ng’obeera mu bantu abamwegaanye? Kisoboka okwawula eddoboozi Lye nga tolina ngeri gy’otuuka ku bakkiriza b’ogabana nabo okukkiriza kwo?
Yee, kisoboka era emboozi ya Samwiri etubuulira bingi kw’ekyo.

1 Samueli 3:1-4 Omwana Samueli akaba aheereza MUKAMA naategyekwa Eli. Kandi ekigambo kya MUKAMA kikaba kiri eky’eicweka omu biro ebyo, hatariho kworekwa kwa butunu. Omu bunaku obwo Eli amaisho ge gakaba gaagiirwemu oruho, atakihweza gye. Ekiro kimwe, ku yaabaire abyami omu mwanya gwe, etabaaza ya Ruhanga etakaraire, na Samueli abyami omuri hekalu ya MUKAMA ahu eshanduukye ya Ruhanga yaabaire eri, MUKAMA yaayeta Samueli; nawe yaamwetaba ati: Ndi aha, Mukama wangye.

1 Samweli 3: 1-4 (BSB): Basi, mtoto Samweli akamtumikia BWANA mbele ya Eli. Na neno la BWANA lilikuwa adimu siku zile; hapakuwa na mafunuo dhahiri. Ikawa wakati huo, Eli alipokuwa amelala mahali pake (tena macho yake yalikuwa yameanza kupofuka, hata asiweze kuona), na taa ya Mungu ilikuwa haijazimika bado, na Samweli alikuwa amelala katika hekalu la BWANA, palipokuwa na sanduku la Mungu; basi, wakati huo BWANA akamwita Samweli; naye akasema, Mimi hapa.
Andiko letu kuu linazungumzia wakati ambapo Neno la Mungu lilikuwa adimu na hapakuwa na mafunuo dhahiri. Toleo la ujumbe linasema, “Hii ilikuwa wakati ambapo ufunuo wa Mungu haukusikiwa sana wala kuonekana.”
Biblia inafunua kwamba katikati ya ugumu huu wa kiroho, Samweli aliisikia sauti ya Mungu.
Hii inatufundisha kuwa bila kujali hali ya kiroho ya taifa, inawezekana kumsikia Mungu waziwazi.
Kuna watu ambao wanaishi katika nchi ambazo Ukristo umekandamizwa, ambapo makanisa ni haramu, ambapo Bibilia zimepigwa marufuku au ambapo dhana ya Mungu inasukumwa kasi kutoka kwa maisha ya umma.
Unaweza kuuliza swali, kuna uwezekano wa kumsikia Mungu unapokaa kati ya watu ambao wamemkataa? Kuna uwezekano wa kutambua sauti yake wakati ambapo huna mawasiliano na waumini wanaoshiriki kwa imani yako?
Ndio, inawezekana na hadithi ya Samweli inatuambia vile vile.
Kamwe usiwahi kuweka kikomo kwa sauti ya Mungu katika maeneo tu ambayo kanisa linaishi na kustawi. Kamwe usiiwachie tu kwa hali ambazo zina dhihirisho kubwa la nguvu Yake na ambapo ishara za udhihirisho Wake zi wazi kwa wote.
Mungu yuko tayari kusema nawe mahali popote na wakati wowote ili mradi moyo wako uko wazi kumsikia.
