Apostle Grace Lubega
Proverbs 23:26 (KJV); My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
God wants your heart.
He is not after your money or physical possessions. God is not impressed by your connections or your family pedigree.
Why is the heart so critical in our relationship with God?
The heart is what determines where each of us is with God.
You may wonder why a certain sister has grown in ministry and has increasingly been trusted with more responsibility. You may puzzle over why a certain brother with whom you have been attending church for years is prospering but you are not.
Understand that every man is where they are supposed to be, that is, their present position is not an accident or a question of chance. Where they are is a result of how much they have allowed God to deal with their hearts.
God does not give responsibilities based on our qualifications. There are very well educated minds in this world but with dark hearts; He gives responsibilities based on the state of the heart.
Issues to do with your heart require that you examine yourself with absolute objectivity and a brutal sense of honesty. Why do you go to church? Why do you serve in the ministry in which you serve? Why do you submit to a particular spiritual authority? Why do you pray? Why do you fast?
Asking these questions is part of the process of allowing God to search your heart so that He sanctifies your will, motives, purposes and desires.

GOLDEN NUGGET: God does not give responsibilities based on our qualifications. He gives responsibilities based on the state of a person’s heart.
PRAYER: My Father, I thank You for this truth. The Bible says that You search the heart and give every man according to his ways. Deal with me, Lord. You know me better than I know myself; You know the broken things in me that must be healed because they are yet to be tried by circumstances. I yield to You and to the work of Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
