Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV); I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Salvation for the souls of men is a great mandate of the Church of Christ. We have been called to evangelize the world and win souls into the Kingdom of God.
As much as salvation for the lost is important, it is not all there is to the Great Commission. In our theme scripture, the Lord reveals to us that He desires that men are SAVED and COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
It is a good thing to have great zeal for the lost. That zeal should also be applied to getting men to know God, His ways, patterns and principles.
This knowledge is eternal life (John 17:3).
Some people who were won into the kingdom of God tend to slip back into their old livelihoods because no one bothered to teach them the ways of God and what it means to live the God-life.
The Church must be more deliberate in teaching, shaping and equipping the saints with sound knowledge.
Knowledge matures us in the things of God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the knowledge that You release to my spirit. I am hungry for more and put a demand on what the Spirit of God has availed. Even as I receive, apply and grow in it, I mature into my true identity in Christ, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
