Apostle Grace Lubega
2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV); For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
As a believer, you must have an effective altar of prayer.
The altar has horns which represent what one must hold onto if they must receive what they seek from God.
The first horn is the promises of God. You cannot pray effectively without knowing and understanding what God has promised and given to His children as their inheritance.
Some believers’ prayers are littered with pleas to God for help but they cannot quote a single scripture to back their appeal to the Master.
Others, if asked, cannot quote five scriptures about the promises of God.
How can you pray to God effectively without knowing what He said about what you desire?
If it is divine healing, fill your mouth and heart with God’s promises of divine healing; if it is growing in the things of the Spirit, fill your mouth with God’s promises about spiritual maturity. If there is any area in your life that you desire to change, look for God’s promises in that area of your life and fill yourself with these promises.

GOLDEN NUGGET: The first horn of the altar of prayer is the promises of God. You cannot pray effectively without knowing and understanding what God has promised and given to His children as their inheritance.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the exceedingly great promises You have made me. I cling to them no matter the circumstance because I know that You honour Your Word. This is the wisdom by which I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
