Apostle Grace Lubega
Ezekiel 36:6-11 (KJV); Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:… For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord
The context of our theme scripture is a time when Israel found itself as the subject of scorn and shame. She was mocked by her enemies because she had become a wasteland. There was not much to admire about her, her former glory was a distant memory.
But it was not God’s desire for Israel to remain in ruins forever. It did not matter that they had brought the judgment upon themselves through their rebellion.
In our theme scripture, He tells the prophet Ezekiel to prophesy to Israel and assure them that the cities shall be inhabited and the waste places shall be rebuilt. He tells them that their estates would do better than they did at the beginning. He was determined to restore the ruins to a greater glory than what existed before.
That is the nature of our God. The Lord is the God who rebuilds even the most broken things. His business is restoration and not destruction.
Do you feel like you are in an emotional wasteland, a financial wasteland, a health wasteland? I have good news for you!
God wants to make you stand, not to kick you while you are still on the ground. He desires to pick you up from where you have fallen and set you on the highest height. He wants to create beauty where there were ashes, give you gladness in the places where you mourned and flood you with peace in the places you despaired.
Believe it, child of God, just believe it!
