Isaiah 38:5-6(KJV); Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

When God added fifteen more years to Hezekiah’s life, He also promised him deliverance from the attacks of the king of Assyria and defence of his city. A longer life was accompanied by peace.

Herein is a great and enduring lesson on how God deals with us as His children. It is not His intention to give you long life yet you are troubled by enemies on every side.

In the same way, God does not want to give you a child and that child struggles with drug addiction. He does not want to give you a job and that job becomes a burden. He does not want to give you a marriage and that marriage robs you of any peace and tranquillity. He doesn’t want to give you a business and watch you struggle with a hostile business environment.

The Bible reveals that His blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22).

Let this mind define your expectations. If God has promised you a child, He also promised to keep and preserve him. If God promised you success in ministry, He promised the people and the resources that you need. His blessing comes with the power, ability and grace for you to enjoy it to the fullest.

Ndyakujuna, iwe n’orurembo oru, omu mikono y’omugabe wa Asiria, kandi ndyarurinda.

Ruhanga kuyayongeireho emyaaka ikumi n’etaano aha magara ga Hezekia, akamuraganisa n’okumujuna emihiiganiso y’omugabe wa Asiria hamwe n’okurinda orurembo rwe. Emyaaka mingi y’omunsi ekaija n’obusingye.

Yesaya 38:5-6 Subirayo ubwire Hezekiya uti ‘Uwiteka Imana ya sogokuruza Dawidi iravuze iti: Numvise gusenga kwawe mbona n’amarira yawe, kubaho kwawe nzongeraho indi myaka cumi n’itanu. Kandi nzagukizanya n’uyu murwa mbakize umwami wa Ashuri, nzawurinda.

Igihe Imana yongeraga Hezekiya imyaka cumi n’itanu, yamusezeranije kumucyiza ibitero by’umwami wa Ashuri no kurinda umurwa we. Ubuzima burambye buherekejwe n’amahoro.

Aha harimo isomo rikomeye ndetse rirambye ku kuntu Imana ikorana natwe nk’abana bayo. Nago biri mu ntego yayo kuguha ubuzima burambye mu gihe abanzi bawe bakugose impande zose.

Na none, Imana ntishaka kuguha umwana ngo hanyuma uwo mwana ajye mu biyobyabwenge. Ntishaka kuguha akazi ngo hanyuma kakubere umutwaro. Ntishaka kuguha urushako ngo hanyuma uruburemo amahoro n’umutuzo. Ntago ishaka kuguha ubucuruzi ngo ikubone uhangayika mu bucuruzi bwawe.
