Apostle Grace Lubega
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV); Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
As a child of God, you must know how to keep yourself in God. The most significant way is to guard your heart. Our theme scripture emphasises this fact when it says, “above all else.” This means that while you may do many things in line with keeping yourself, the leading consideration is that you guard your heart.
We live in a world where people have mastered the art of manipulating perceptions and the cognitive abilities of the subconscious mind. Many people have fallen prey to what has been termed as data surveillance. More than ever, you have to be conscious of what you allow your mind to consume.
Thus, in guarding your heart, you must ask yourself some critical questions. What am I listening to? What am I reading? What am I watching?
It is naive for you to be an indiscriminate consumer of whatever information the world feeds you.
We live in an era of false news, a time when hoaxes spread like wildfire. In this age, many abuse the platforms of self-expression without any conscience, all in the name of freedom of speech. Do you ever ask the Holy Spirit if something is true or do you take all things at face value?
Purpose to be a lover of truth by having a filter over what information you consume. Guard your heart, child of God.

GOLDEN NUGGET: In guarding your heart, you must ask yourself some critical questions. What am I listening to? What am I reading? What am I watching? It is naive for you to be an indiscriminate consumer of whatever information the world presents you.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this wisdom. I embrace it completely and allow it to work in every area of my life. I know what information to take in and what to discard. I know what to believe and what to disregard. I can never be a victim of the deceptions in this world because of this understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
