Of Eternal Life

Apostle Grace Lubega

John 17:3 (KJV) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Eternal life is not a place; it is the life of salvation. Religion defines it as a place we go when we die. It is not the final destination of the believer; it is the life that you received when you got Born Again.

Our theme scripture says: “and this is eternal life that they may know the one true God and his son Jesus”. But 1 John 5:11 also says: “and this is the record that God has given unto us eternal life”.

This means that we have the knowledge of God and His son; we have this “epignosis” which is the advanced knowledge of anything that any man might want to know about God.

If a man wants to know God, they study your life; if they want to understand how God works, they only have to watch you.

That is why 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 (AMP) says that God spreads the sweet fragrance of His knowledge through us. We are the sweet fragrance of Christ discernible to both those who are being saved and those who are perishing. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET:
Eternal life is not a place; it is the life of salvation.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for the gift of eternal life: that great, vast and deep knowledge of who you are. Because I have this precious gift, I do not live life as one who is only getting to know God; I know God. When men look at my life, it demonstrates the knowledge of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
