Apostle Grace Lubega
Proverbs 27:17 (KJV): “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

When two people come together in covenant, God uses the closeness, commitment, and consistency of marriage to shape them into better versions of who He has called them to be.
Before marriage, it is easy to overlook our rough edges. We can avoid conflict, hide weaknesses, or retreat when things become uncomfortable. But marriage usually removes the luxury of avoidance. It invites us into daily opportunities to practice patience, humility, forgiveness, and selflessness.
This refining is not meant to break us, but to build us. Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 reminds us that two are better than one because they help each other rise. A godly marriage challenges complacency and encourages growth. Your spouse becomes God’s instrument used to sharpen you, strengthen you, and align you more closely with Christ.
Marriage is meant to make us better. Better givers. Better listeners. Better reflections of Christ’s sacrificial love. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the gift of marriage and the growth it brings. I see my spouse not as an obstacle to my comfort, but as a partner in my transformation. You teach me to embrace correction, to give grace freely, and to grow in love daily. You shape me through this covenant into the person You have called me to be. Amen.
