Apostle Grace Lubega
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV): “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving must be Spirit-led.
The Bible says in Romans 8:14, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
As a child of God, giving should never be forced or imposed on you. You are not meant to give simply because someone told you to, but because the Spirit of God within you has moved you to do so.
I have heard preachers say, “The Holy Spirit told me someone here should give a certain amount.” That is what we call an external prompting, a word someone else believes they have received from God.
Should it be enough to compel you to give? No. The question is: What has the Spirit told you?
Our theme scripture teaches that giving should be based on what you have decided in your heart. The decision to give must start from within you and that decision should be inspired by the Holy Spirit.
God does not want you to feel pressured or manipulated. He does not want you to give out of fear or guilt. He desires that you give in faith, in joy, and because His Spirit has stirred your heart.
Spirit-led giving will often require that before you give, you pause and ask the Holy Spirit, “Should I give? What would You have me give?” Then listen. He will guide you. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: As a child of God, giving should never be forced or imposed on you. You are not meant to give simply because someone told you to, but because the Spirit of God within you has moved you to do so.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this instruction on giving that pleases You. Holy Spirit, I hear You clearly. I give from my heart because I am led by You. I find joy and peace in my giving through this wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
