Galatians 3:7(KJV); Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham

In the course of ministry, I have met families plagued by cycles of destructive behaviour and disease.

There are families with a history of deaths by cancer, families whose children from generation to generation have fallen victim to drug abuse, families in which no one lives past a certain age, families in which no one has attained a proper level of education or families with no record of marriages but where everyone conceives outside wedlock.

Some people have owned this reality as an unchangeable part of their story. They solemnly believe that they have been born to follow in the footsteps of their fathers and mothers.

Some cannot even help themselves. They found themselves as drunkards much like their fathers. They toil under the burden of poverty, much like their parents and they are convinced that is their lot in life.

That is not the story of a child of God. When you became Born Again, you were born into a new family, of believers, of men of faith, of a history of greatness. Your lineage changed and your DNA was switched.

The blood of great men flows through you; men like Joshua who stopped the sun, men like Moses who split the sea, men like Abraham who thrived in strange lands.

God rewrote the script. He erased your negative history(2 Corinthians 5:17).

Never again should you think that in your family, people suffer early deaths. Look to Abraham and remember that in your family, you live to a full age like a stock of wheat in its season. Never again should you think that in your family, poverty is a close relative. Look to Abraham and remember that you were born to be exceedingly great.

Continually look to the Word and understand the lineage from which your story is scripted.
