Apostle Grace Lubega
Haggai 1:7-9 (KJV); Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord. Ye looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
If you attend to God’s business, you never have to worry about your business.
In Haggai 1:6, the Bible says, “Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.”
The people in our theme scripture were too preoccupied with their own business. They were more mindful of what they had to eat, to drink, to wear, how to keep warm and what wages they were to earn.
God had to point them back to the fundamentals. In Matthew 6:33, He says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
The kingdom must be first in everything that you do.
You are not in your company simply to earn a paycheque. You are there as a kingdom agent. Serve God with your career, He will cause it to flourish.
God did not give you a business so that you can only amass profits. Your business is a vessel for the kingdom of God. Serve God through it and He will cause it to flourish.
You are not married to a wonderful man as a form of revenge-success towards those who never thought you would get married. Let your marriage be a blessing and an inspiration to others for the sake of the kingdom of God. God Himself will preserve it and continually keep it.
