Matthew 21:12-13(KJV); And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Have you ever asked yourself how the temple of God became a marketplace?

This was a place of worship and deeply revered but at some point in time, it became a hub of trade.

Until Jesus overturned the tables of money changers and drove out those selling doves and other merchandise, no one had complained about this state of affairs.

Why? Because it was condoned by the religious leaders of the time.

What is the lesson herein?

There are things some Christians do simply because they see some ministers of the gospel doing them even when those things are wrong.

Some people are willing to go against their innermost convictions because of the actions of men and women of God.

The minister of the gospel is not the standard, God is. You follow him only because He follows God. If He gets off the path of following God, you have the right to flee.

We serve men of God because they serve God. We submit to men of God because they are submitted first to God. God is the standard.

DIEU EST NOTRE NORME

‭‭Matthieu‬ ‭21:12‭-‬13‬ ‭(LSG‬‬); Jésus entra dans le temple de Dieu. Il chassa tous ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple; il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges des vendeurs de pigeons. [13] Et il leur dit: Il est écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière. Mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de voleurs.

Avez-vous déjà demandé comment le temple de Dieu est devenu un marché ?

C’était un lieu de culte profondément vénéré, mais à un moment donné, il est devenu une plaque tournante du commerce.

Jusqu’à ce que Jésus renverse les tables des changeurs et chasse les vendeurs de colombes et d’autres marchandises, personne ne s’était plaint de cet état de choses.

Pourquoi? Parce que cela était toléré par les chefs religieux de l’époque.

Quelle est la leçon ici ?

Il y a des choses que certains chrétiens font simplement parce qu’ils voient certains ministres de l’Évangile les faire même lorsque ces choses sont mauvaises.

Certaines personnes sont prêtes à aller à l’encontre de leurs convictions les plus intimes à cause des actions d’hommes et de femmes de Dieu.

Le ministre de l’Évangile n’est pas la norme, Dieu l’est. Vous le suivez uniquement parce qu’il suit Dieu. S’Il s’écarte du chemin qui consiste à suivre Dieu, vous avez le droit de fuir.

Nous servons les hommes de Dieu parce qu’ils servent Dieu. Nous nous soumettons aux hommes de Dieu parce qu’ils sont d’abord soumis à Dieu. Dieu est la norme.
