Apostle Grace Lubega
Deuteronomy 11:19 (KJV): “And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

We live in a time when many children can sing entire songs from memory and recite poems or rhymes word for word. Yet, ask the same child to quote a single Bible verse, and they may struggle. Something is missing.
Scripture is not just information; it is life, truth, and power. When children memorise the Word of God, they are storing up wisdom, strength, and guidance for their future. The Word within them becomes a compass that helps them make godly choices and live rightly, even when no one is watching.
As a parent or guardian, do not leave this responsibility to chance or delegate it entirely to Sunday School teachers. Take an active role in teaching your children to memorise Scripture. Repeat verses together until they remember them. Make it enjoyable and interactive. If it helps, offer small rewards for each verse they commit to memory. The goal is to make Scripture learning a joyful and consistent part of family life.
One day, that verse they learned at home will be the very Word that keeps them strong when life becomes difficult. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. I teach it faithfully to the children You have entrusted to me. Grant me wisdom and consistency to help them learn and remember the Scriptures. May Your Word grow strong in their hearts and guide their lives. Our home is filled with Your truth always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
