Apostle Grace Lubega
Proverbs 22:6 KJV: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
—
When most people read our theme scripture—“Train up a child in the way he should go”—they often interpret it in terms of moral and ethical upbringing. They think of teaching a child to be respectful, how to behave in public, how to speak to authority, and how to relate properly with others. These are all true and foundational aspects of training a child. However, there is another dimension that parents must understand.
If God reveals the destiny of your child to you—or if, through godly desire and discernment, you perceive a particular path for their life—then training them in the way they should go also means raising them with the consciousness of who they are called to become.
For example, if you believe you are raising a future president, there is a certain way you must teach your child to behave. You may say, “Carry yourself this way because that is how leaders behave.” Teach them to speak with confidence and responsibility because that is how presidents communicate.
If you sense that you are raising one of the greatest business leaders of their generation, begin conditioning their thinking accordingly. Teach them how great business leaders relate to money—with stewardship, wisdom, and vision. Show them how they manage time, solve problems, and think strategically.
When a child is raised with a clear sense of destiny, that destiny will find expression in their life—and they will not depart from it. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. Thank You for the wisdom to raise my children in paths of greatness. They are for signs and wonders. They are mighty upon the earth. Let this truth shape how I teach, correct, and instruct them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
