Apostle Grace Lubega
James 1:5-6 (AMP); If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind.
Effective prayer is grounded in faith.
Our theme scripture is clear on the requirement of faith in any prayer. If you ask for anything from God, it must be in faith and without doubt.
In James 5:15, the Bible says that the prayer of faith saves the sick. It is the prayer of faith that brings the financial breakthrough, delivers your children, saves your marriage, revives your ministry or builds your business.
If you know that you are praying in the perfect will of God, it is your responsibility not to doubt. Faith is the choice you must make every time you go to God in prayer.
If you struggle with unanswered prayer, one of the things you must check about yourself is your faith. Examine and ask yourself if you really do believe. When you put yourself through this honest self-examination, you will never be a victim of the kind of faith that lies to itself.
To know whether you are in doubt, learn to examine your attitude after prayer. If you have prayed about a matter, are you still thinking about what could possibly go wrong? Are you talking incessantly about the problem? Are you calling a friend or a man of God to add his prayer to yours because you do not believe yours was enough?
When you pray, ensure that you deal with all doubt. Sometimes, it will require that you force yourself to rejoice and to start laughing in victory even when you do not feel like it. Do it until you provoke the realm of heaven to pronounce that your kind of faith cannot be ashamed.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Effective prayer is grounded in faith. If you know that you are praying in the perfect will of God, it is your responsibility not to doubt. Faith is the choice you must make every time you go to God in prayer.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. The Bible says that all things are possible to them who believe and I believe. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please You. I am a child of faith and I please You. No matter the circumstances of my life, I choose the path of faith, lean my entire personality on You and place absolute trust in Your power, wisdom and goodness. By this, I live in victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
