Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 11:23 (NIV); By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
As a parent, you have the responsibility to know the call of God upon your child’s life.
If you do not know the calling upon your child’s life, you will never be able to hide them from the dangers that threaten their God-given destiny.
Like our theme scripture says, Moses’ parents hid him from Pharaoh and his men because they knew that he was not an ordinary child.
They were ready and willing to risk the wrath of the king because they understood that what was upon their child was worth preserving at every cost.
The dangers of not knowing the calling of God upon your child are seen in the life of Jesse, the father of David. He did not know the mantle in his own household. Because of this, he forgot he had a younger son in the critical moment when God wanted to anoint this son through Samuel. If Jesse had understood this mantle, David would have been the first son he presented to Samuel (1 Samuel 16:11).
Thus, as a parent, you should not leave it to chance for your child to fulfill their God-given destiny. You have a role to play in bringing that destiny to pass. The Bible requires that you lead children in the way that they should go (Proverbs 22:6). How can you know which way that is when you have not asked God about His plans and purposes concerning your children?
Your parents did not believe God for you. They believed for a child and he gave them you. Therefore, as a parent, make it your responsibility to seek God about what path your children must take. Trust Him for the grace and ability to play your part in bringing their destiny to pass.
