Apostle Grace Lubega
Jeremiah 12:4 (KJV); How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
Wickedness in a nation can affect the climate, weather, and animals in it. The land can mourn, herbs can wither and beasts get consumed because of the state of the hearts of the people in a place.
This fact places a great responsibility on the lives of Christians. It means that creation suffers when the Church is indifferent to God and wickedness thrives.
When Christ gave us the great commission, He had this responsibility in mind. In Mark 16:15, the Bible says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The Greek Word ktisis for creature is translated to mean anything created. Thus, when Christ sent us to preach the gospel, He intended that we preach to the land, the animals, the weather and the seas.
The gospel we preach is not merely for the redemption of the souls of men but it is also for the redemption of creation. In Romans 8:19, the Bible says that creation is groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God. It is waiting on a child of God to put it in order.
What a mandate! As the body of Christ, we must understand that we are not merely preaching sermons during our services, we are putting the foundations of the world back on course (Psalm 11:3).
Glory to God!

GOLDEN NUGGET: The gospel we preach is not merely for the redemption of the souls of men but it is also for the redemption of creation.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this knowledge. What a privilege to be a part of the great cause of the gospel. I understand this mandate and treat it with all the seriousness it deserves. My nation is a better place because I am in it. The weather, the land and all its systems respond to the anointing upon my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
