Understanding God’s Mind Through Patterns – 1

1 Corinthians 11:1(AMP); Pattern yourselves after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah).

Understanding how patterns work is a key element in spiritual growth. These patterns form the basis of instruction.

The Bible is full of patterns. 

For example, In Genesis, we see the patterns of creation. In these, we see the pattern of light as it comes to manifestation, the power of the Word in shaping substance. The pattern of redemption can be traced from the Garden of Eden to the sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham, to the Passover lamb, all the way to the death of Christ at Calvary. 

Another pattern is impartation. There is a pattern in how the Patriarchs blessed their sons, how Paul related with Timothy, and how Christ dealt with the apostles. 

With every pattern of scripture is a revelation of the heart and wisdom of God pertaining to the maturation of His seed.

This is very critical in how you study the scriptures. If you never look at the scriptures through the lens of these patterns, you will continually miss vital instructions from God and never appreciate how He works with us.

Patterns will teach you how we grow; how we build ministry and how we sustain success.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for your Word. Thank you for its precepts, lines, and verses that point me in the way that I should go. By the Word, my paths are straightened and my focus is sharpened. I learn from the Patriarchs and the great men of old. I receive understanding from how they lived their lives and how You dealt with them. I grow and mature as I pattern myself to eternal truths. In Jesus’ name, Amen

The Persevering Spirit

Hebrews 10:39(KJV); But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

The devil can fight hard, but he cannot fight for long.

When you understand this as a believer, you will learn to endure through situations. 

Life can throw all kinds of challenges at you. Like Job, in the scriptures, you may be battered by bad news from all sides all at once, but you must understand the great law of perseverance.

Perseverance is the difference between the man whom history remembers and the one who history rejects; the one who wins and the one that almost wins; the one who attained victory and the one who gave up one step away from victory.

The persevering Christian has this mentality; I am closer than I think. This is what causes them to never draw backwards or to give up.

You must live such a crazy life of faith that even the devil gets tired of afflicting you in that area because he knows you are a tight nut to crack.

The devil can fight hard, but he cannot fight for long

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this truth. I thank you because I am strengthened in my inner man every day. I can never faint in the day of adversity because I understand the law of perseverance. It doesn’t matter what comes at me, I stand strong in faith. To the glory of your name, Amen.

In The Kidron Moments

2 Samuel 15:23(KJV); And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

Kidron carries strong significance throughout the scriptures. 

It is in the brook Kidron that the Levites dumped the unclean things they found in the temple (2 Chronicles 29:16). 
The Kidron valley was a burial ground for common people. 

It was not an admirable place; it was a place of darkness, death and all sorts of waste.

The writer in our theme scripture was deliberate in pointing out that King David found himself having to go over the brook Kidron. This was not a place for a king to be seen. However, the situation in his life had reduced him to this state.

Our Lord Jesus Christ also experienced the Kidron moment, because the Garden of Gethsemane is located in the valley of Kidron(John 18:1). In this moment, He sweated blood and even cried to the Father, that if it be possible, the cup of suffering be taken away from Him.

Kidron moments may come, but it is important to remember that they are not there to stay. 

Those around you may think that you have come to the end of your rope; your life and your abilities but never forget who is with you and for you. 

In Kidron, the temptation to give up and abandon the path of purpose may be very strong but hold onto the author and finisher of your faith.

God is with you. Like David returned and claimed His kingdom, so shall all that you lost be restored to you. Like Christ overcame death and claimed eternal victory, so shall all the things that seem dead in your life come to life again.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Kidron moments may come, but it is important to remember that they are not there to stay. God is with you. Like David returned and claimed His kingdom, so shall all that you lost be restored to you. Like Christ overcame death and claimed eternal victory, so shall all the things that seem dead in your life come to life.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for this Word. You are my anchor, my hope and my firm foundation. You are the peace in the storm and the solid ground when mountains tremble. It doesn’t matter what I go through, I live in the blessed assurance that I have overcome. To the glory of your name, Amen.

The Surety Of Joy – 2

Psalm 30:5(KJV); For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

God has promised us that joy will always come to us. The joy question is not a matter of “may or might”. It is an absolute in the equation of your victory.

How then does joy come? 

What makes joy an absolute in the storms and fires of life?

The Bible reveals that it comes in the morning. 

Across scripture, morning is synonymous to when a person receives revelation and the Word of God. 

Therefore, the guarantee that joy will come is when you receive the revelation of the Word of God concerning your situation. 

When you receive His Word, you can dance through adversity and rejoice despite your pain. 

You can smile through persecution and celebrate through trial and travail.

That is why men and women of the Word are consistently overflowing with joy no matter what they face in life.

The guarantee that joy will come is when you receive the revelation of the Word of God concerning your situation. 

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for the precious gift of your Word. It is my anchor and strength. Through the Word, I scale mountains and go through valleys. I seek understanding and revelation in all situations because it is the guarantee of my victory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Surety Of Joy – 1

Joy is a guarantee for every believer who chooses to trust in God.

It does not matter what valley you go through; what storms rage against you; what fires burn through your life or what rivers you have to cross. God has determined that your end will always be joyous.

He says, “weeping may endure for a night...” 

In the mind of God, pain, suffering or affliction are an issue of “may.” They are not the general rule of life. They are not the standard expectation of the child of God.

He further says, “…BUT joy cometh in the morning.” 

There is no qualification on the possibility of joy. Joy comes in the morning! 

Regardless of what you are facing, live with this blessed assurance, joy comes. Yes, you may be in pain but joy comes. Yes, you may be battling with disappointment but joy comes. Yes, your heart may be bleeding because of betrayal but joy comes.

GOLDEN NUGGET:

Regardless of what you are facing, live with this blessed assurance, joy comes. Yes, you may be in pain but joy comes. Yes, you may be battling with disappointment but joy comes. Yes, your heart may be bleeding because of betrayal but joy comes. 

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for this truth. Thank you because Joy is my portion; it is my end; my destination. Because of this truth, I know that my future is brighter than the mysteries of the present. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Building Foundations – 2

Proverbs 3:20(KJV); By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

By the knowledge of God, depths are broken up. Understand that these depths are deeper places in Him. 

Depths are broken for the laying of a foundation because God knows that you can never go high if you have not gone deep enough.

In 1 Corinthians 3:11, Paul says, ” For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.“

The foundation is Christ.

When depths are broken, we go deeper in Christ; the church grows more and more into Him. 

How much do we know and understand Christ? How much of the Christ realities have we matured into?

We have to be better than the men in Hebrews, whom when Paul is trying to explain of Melchisedec there is a place they are not able to understand “Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing” (Hebrews 5:10-11).

When the church rejects revelation; it rejects Christ.

Embrace knowledge and revelation with gladness and joy because it deepens and strengthens your understanding of Christ the foundation.

Building Foundations – 1

Proverbs 3:20(KJV); By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

The knowledge of God breaks depths. This means that it reveals even deeper knowledge in God. The more you know Him, the deeper you know Him.

But what is the mind of the Spirit in the breaking of depths? What is the purpose of this deeper knowledge in Him?

The mind of God in all this is that you can only break to build. God never breaks when He does not intend to build because He is not the author of “tohu vabo hu.” He is not a God of chaos, confusion or waste. In the beginning, when He saw “tohu vabo hu”, He spoke light and went about shaping beauty out of destruction.

God does not break to break. This means that the deeper knowledge in God cannot destroy a man. I have heard people belittle revelation claiming that it is the recipe for all forms of extremism. No. Depths are never broken to cause more breakage. 

When depths are broken, men are built in wisdom and in understanding. When depths are broken, men are built in power and authority. When depths are broken, men are built in love, mercy and grace.

Wisdom For Preservation – 2

Job 38:17(KJV); Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

There are people who are gates of death or doors to the shadow of death. This is because of the spirit that is usually at work in such individuals.

One such spirit every wise man needs to steer clear of is the spirit of the strange woman. In proverbs 5:5, the Bible says Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. 

The strange woman is more than that woman whom a man seeks outside his marital bed. This spirit can work even in men( like the Jezebel spirit works in both men and women).

One critical thing about the spirit of a strange woman is what the Bible reveals in Proverbs 2:16-17. It reveals that she forgets the covenant of her God! This means that a strange woman can even be a believer but she or he dishonours, abuses and disregards this covenant.

There are Christians who require very little motivation to denounce the faith. There are people who don’t need so much to compromise Christian virtues. There are people who can trade a clean conscience before God so easily. They are strange.

The Bible says they are doors that lead to death. For Solomon, they corrupted his wisdom and tainted his legacy. Strange men and women in pastoral positions have destroyed entire ministries. 

It is prudent to recognise strangeness. Keep from this door, child of wisdom.

GOLDEN NUGGET:

The strange woman forgets the covenant of her God. It is prudent to recognise strangeness. Keep from this door, child of wisdom. 

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this day. Thank you for this wisdom that preserves and keeps me. I have the judgment that discerns strangeness and the understanding to know what to do. This knowledge keeps my ministry; my business; my marriage; my career and all my dealings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Wisdom For Preservation – 1

Job 38:17(KJV); Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Death has gates and it’s shadow has doors.

These gates and doors are traits, circumstances and even people that expose you to death or it’s consequences. 

Disease is a shadow of death; there are circumstances, habits and people that lead you to it. Addiction is a shadow of death, there are circumstances, habits and people that lead you to it. It is the same with mental anguish, pain and many other negative aspects of life. 

One of the doors you must guard against is fear. In Psalm 23:4, David declares, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”

David was in a dangerous place, life seemed against him but he refused to allow fear to control him because fear is a straight path to all sorts of destruction. 

Look at what fear did to Job. In Job 3:25 He says, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”

When he walked through the door of fear, he lost everything. 

That’s how terrible and devastating fear can be, child of God. Always recognise the door of fear and determine not to walk through it.

Yes, you may be in the valley of the shadow of disease, of financial distress or of career breakdown; walk away from the door of fear.

Let your blessed assurance be that God is with you. That whatever you are going through cannot overcome you.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Always recognise the door of fear and determine not to walk through it. Let your blessed assurance be that God is with you. That whatever you are going through cannot overcome you.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this Word. Thank you because no matter the flood, no matter the fire, you are with me. You will never leave me nor forsake me and that is my blessed assurance. I rise above fear and take bold steps in faith knowing that nothing can harm me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Of Access And Revelation

Romans 10:17(KJV); So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Inner realms in God are accessed through faith. However, every level of faith is defined by a level of revelation. 

You cannot rise in faith without a corresponding level of revelation. That is, you cannot believe what has not been revealed to you. 

When the Bible says that we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), it does not mean that faith is the opposite of sight. Faith has eyes too. 

The eyes of faith are in revelation. Paul calls them, “the eyes of your understanding.”

This is why in Ephesians 1:17-18, Paul says, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of*him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” 

When revelation comes, it provides the sight for you to be elevated to your next level of faith.

Inner realms in God are accessed through faith. However, every level of faith is defined by a level of revelation. 

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for this wisdom. I have access to deeper places in you because I believe. The eyes of my understanding are flooded with light, I see where I must go; I see my next level in you; I see my next step in ministry.

To Live From Eternity – 2

Phillipians 3:20 (KJV); For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

The progress of the earth, it’s seasons and it’s time are too slow for the sons of God.

Moreover, despite all of this, the urgency of heaven is not diminished by the fact that the seasons or times of the earth are slow.

Joshua had an entire army of Amorites to vanquish. By heaven, the victory was his. Heaven would never have excused him if he had postponed the battle to the next day when he had more daylight. Like a true child of God, he demanded the inconceivable, that the sun stop. 

There is so much that heaven expects from children of God. 

You will be amazed, child of God, by how high the bar of expectation of God is. These expectations cannot be fulfilled within the times and seasons of the earth.

In the earthly realm, nightfall will come and the daylight shall cease and yet heaven still expects you to continue with the battle.

That is why we live from eternity because that realm is not subject to the limitations of the earth. 

Victories are won in the realm of God because therein we are quickened; we have constant access to the light of God and have no fear for darkness.

As a child of God, you must continually exercise yourself in the consciousness that you are eternal and live from eternity.

We live from eternity because that realm is not subject to the limitations of the earth. Victories are won in the realm of God because therein we are quickened; we have constant access to the light of God and have no fear for darkness.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank you for this Word. I live in the understanding of heavenly realities. I seek victory from above because that is how I win. I fulfill the purposes of heaven and the mandate upon my life because I have this understanding.

To Live From Eternity – 1

Phillipians 3:20 (KJV); For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ

Every child of God must learn to live from eternity. This is one of the most understated truths of the Christian life. It is understated because some have erroneously assumed that eternity is a destination.

Eternity is not a destination, it is the realm of God in which you and I were born. The Amplified version of our theme scripture calls it the homeland.

When you learn to live from eternity and understand how God relates with humanity from eternity, you will find that every time you engage in earthly affairs, you will always be above and ahead of ordinary men.

In eternity, we do not wait for things to happen in order to confirm their reality. A man in the eternal realm has seen the end of all things.

Access to this realm is by faith. 

Many think of these truths as a child’s fable but it is only because they either do not believe or they do not know these realities. 

They cannot believe because faith comes through knowledge, which is the hearing of the Word of God.

Make the choice to believe!

Believe that you are ahead of any natural man. Believe that your life is in Christ. Believe that you are a spirit and that your dwelling place is in the heavenlies.
