Genesis 5:24 (KJV); And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
The Hebrew word, ‘walked’ as used in our theme scripture is ‘halak.’ Halak is translated to mean, among other things, to die.
In this, God reveals to us that Enoch underwent a kind of death and because of it, he was no more because God took him.
No man can truly walk with God when he has not died in the ways that God defines death. Once he dies, in that death, he truly lives.
Paul had a similar experience. He says in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
If you must walk with God, He firstly must kill the fallen nature so that you can live by a higher life and nature.
Some Christians are so busy asking God to anoint them when God wants to kill them.
In the Christian walk, we yield to many things but one of the things that God is calling us to yield to more than ever before is to yield to death, and to His work in us as He kills the flesh.

Ekigambo eky’Olwebbulaniya, “okutambulira” nga bwe kikozeseddwa mu kyawandiikibwa kyaffe ekigguddewo kiri “halak”. “Halak” kivvunulwa okutegeeza, mu bintu ebirala, okufa.
Mu kino, Katonda atubikkulira nti Enoka yayita mu ngeri y’okufa era ku lw’okufa okwo, n’atabeerawo kubanga Katonda yamutwala.
Teri muntu asobola mazima ddala okutambula ne Katonda nga tafudde mu ngeri Katonda gy’annyonnyolamu okufa. Kasita afa, mu kufa okwo, abeera mulamu ddala.
Paulo yayita mu mbeera y’emu. Agamba mu Abaggalatiya 2:20, “Nnakomererwa wamu ne Kristo; naye ndi mulamu; si ku bwange nate, naye Kristo ye mulamu mu nze: era obulamu bwe nnina kaakano mu mubiri, mbulina lwa kukkiriza Omwana wa Katonda eyanjagala ne yeewaayo ku lwange.”

Ekigambo ky’oruheburaayo ‘yaagyenda’ ekikozesiibwe omu mutwe gw’ebyahandiikirwe byaitu ni ‘halak.’ Halak nikivunurirwa kumanyisa, omu bintu ebindi okufa.
Omuri eki, Ruhanga natushuuruurira ngu Enoka akaraba omu muringo gw’okufa kandi ahabwakwo, akabura ahabw’okuba Ruhanga akamutwara.

Ekigambo kyo’ruyonaani, ‘yagenderaga’ ekikozisibwe mukyahandikirwe kyaitu eky’ahamutwe kiri ‘halak.’ Halak kihindurwa kumanyisa hali ebintu bindi, okufa.

Neno la kiebrania, ‘akaenda’ kama lilivyotumika kwenye mandhari ya maandiko yetu ni ‘halak.’ Halak inatafsiriwa kumaanisha, katika mambo mengi, kufa.

Wakristo wengine wanashughulika sana kumwomba Mungu awatie mafuta wakati Mungu anataka kuwaua.
Katika njia ya kikristo, tunajitolea kwa mambo mengi lakini moja ya mambo ambayo Mungu anatuita tufanye zaidi kuliko hapo awali ni kujisalimisha kwa kifo, na kwa kazi yake ndani yetu anapoua mwili.
