Proverbs 18:14 (AMPC); The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear?
The spirit of a man has been built to handle all manner of infirmity. This is the reason why some people suffer fatal gunshot wounds but still survive; why some are diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and live on for many years; why some suffer all manner of affliction but are not destroyed.
If your spirit is strong, no disease is too grave, no affliction too dangerous. You have the God-given ability to contain it and overcome it.
How do you keep your spirit from being broken? It is through your confessions; they either make or break you.
When the spirit of a man is broken because of the negative confessions of that man, no amount of prayer can change that man until his spirit is rebuilt and he changes his confessions.
Never underestimate the effect of what you say on your spirit. As a child of God, you must understand that the moment you utter anything, you give it power because the Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 that life and death are in the power of your tongue.
You must live a life that is conscious of the effect of your words. You should never give disease, poverty or death power even as a matter of humour. Remember that the devil does not joke. He will use your words against you. May the words of your mouth always speak life.

Mithali 18:14 (AMPC):\ Roho yenye nguvu ya mtu humtegemeza katika maumivu au taabu ya mwili, lakini roho dhaifu na iliyovunjika ni nani awezaye kumwinua au kuvumilia?
Roho ya mtu imejengwa kushughulikia kila aina ya udhaifu. Hii ndiyo sababu ya baadhi ya watu kupata majeraha mabaya ya risasi lakini bado kunusurika; kwa sababu wengine hugunduliwa na saratani ya Hatua ya IV na kuishi kwa miaka mingi; kwa sababu wengine hunateseka kila namna lakini hawaangamizwi.
Ikiwa roho yako ina nguvu, hakuna ugonjwa mbaya sana, hakuna mateso hatari sana. Una uwezo uliopewa na Mungu wa kuudhibiti na kuushinda.
Je, unaifanyaje roho yako isivunjike? Ni kupitia maungamo yako; wanakutengeneza au kukuvunja.
Roho ya mtu inapovunjwa kwa sababu ya maungamo mabaya ya mtu huyo, hakuna kiasi cha maombi kinachoweza kumbadilisha mtu huyo hadi roho yake ijengeke tena na abadilishe maungamo yake.
Usidharau kamwe athari ya kile unachosema kwenye roho yako. Ukiwa mtoto wa Mungu, ni lazima uelewe kwamba mara unapotamka jambo lolote, unalipa nguvu kwa sababu Biblia inasema katika Mithali 18:21 kwamba uzima na kifo huwa katika uwezo wa ulimi wako.
Lazima uishi maisha ambayo yanatambua athari ya maneno yako. Haupaswi kamwe kutoa magonjwa, umaskini au kifo nguvu hata kama jambo la ucheshi. Kumbuka kwamba shetani hana mzaha. Atatumia maneno yako dhidi yako. Maneno ya kinywa chako yawe uzima siku zote.
