Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Samuel 15:24 (NKJV): “Then Saul said to Samuel, ‘I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.’”

In yesterday’s devotional, we understood that the fear of our enemies can be a cause of delayed potential. However, beyond the fear of our enemies lies an even more deceptive trap: the fear of those we love and respect or, more simply, the fear of the disapproval of people whose opinions matter to us. Many believers carry immense potential, yet their spiritual progress remains severely delayed because they have yielded to the subtle snare of people-pleasing.
King Saul’s tragic downfall was not rooted in a lack of military prowess but in his inability to prioritize God’s command over human approval. He traded God’s opinion for temporary validation, choosing to please the crowd rather than obey the Almighty.
When you care more about pleasing family, friends, or associates than pleasing God, you build your life on a fragile foundation. Scripture plainly warns, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength” (Jeremiah 17:5). The moment a critical choice arises between God’s voice and human opinion, a people-pleasing attitude will force you to choose man every time.
You cannot fulfill divine potential while remaining a slave to human applause. Breaking free from delayed potential requires the courage to honor God above every human relationship!

GOLDEN NUGGET: You cannot fulfill divine potential while remaining a slave to human applause. Breaking free from delayed potential requires the courage to honor God above every human relationship!
PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for this Word. I repent for any time I feared human opinion or prioritized human approval above Your divine command. I align my heart to Your voice alone. I receive the courage to stand for Your truth, no matter who disagrees, knowing that my destiny and potential are secure in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
