Romans 4:19-20 (KJV): “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”

When the Bible describes Abraham’s posture of faith, it says that he “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief.” What a striking testimony of unwavering faith. Abraham did not waver, hesitate, or shift between belief and doubt. He stood firm in what God had spoken.
How does this staggering often show up in the life of a believer? One common way is by postponing God’s promises and continually pushing them into the future.
When a person says, “One day I will be healed,” that is a form of staggering. When another says, “One day I will become a millionaire,” that is staggering. When someone prays, “One day I will get married,” that too is staggering. Though such words may sound hopeful, they reveal a heart that has not yet fully rested in the present reality of God’s Word.
In Joel 3:10, the instruction is clear: “Let the weak say, I am strong.” God does not teach us to say, “I will be strong,” “I will be rich,” or “I will be healed.” This kind of postponement is a subtle form of double-mindedness. It desires a promise in the present, yet keeps pushing its fulfillment into the future. But Scripture tells us in James 1:6–8 that a double-minded man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
The one who is rooted and established in faith stands in the now. He does not merely hope for future success; he knows that God has already made him a success, and he lives accordingly. She does not merely hope for marriage; she carries herself with the dignity, confidence, and consciousness of one who has already received what God has spoken.
This is the posture of men and women who truly walk by faith. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. My faith is planted and rooted in You. You are true, and Your Word never fails. By this knowledge, I walk in the confidence of one who already has all that I will ever need. I am not waiting for manifestation tomorrow, because I know it has all already been done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
