Apostle Grace Lubega
Romans 4:17-18 (KJV): “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.”

God calls those things which be not as though they were. He does not call things that are as though they are not. Then He says, “So shall thy seed be.”
In Luke 8:11, the Lord reveals that the seed is the Word of God. This points us not only to the divine message we receive, but also to the confession that proceeds from our lips when that Word takes root in our hearts. Through this, God graciously teaches us the pattern of faith-filled confession. We are to speak in agreement with Him, calling things that are not as though they were, and not merely denying what already exists in the natural.
For example, God does not look at a sick man and say that he is not sick. That would be calling things that are as though they are not. Rather, He declares that the man is healthy.
In the same way, God does not look at a believer struggling with a habit and call him merely a sinner saved by grace. No, He calls him His righteousness. Neither does He say to the man with a low bank balance, “You are not poor.” Instead, He says, “You are rich.” He speaks from the abundance of His truth, not from the limitation of present appearances.
Beloved, your confessions must follow this same divine pattern. If God does not speak a certain way, neither should you.
Do not say, “I am not poor. I am not sick. I am not a struggler.” Rather say, “I am wealthy and blessed. I am healthy, and my youth is renewed day by day. I am a success, and my path shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.” This is the language of faith.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I receive this instruction and align my life with its truth. I speak as my Lord speaks. I follow Your pattern and manner of speech every day of my life. As I do, I tame every season of my life and every environment I step into. In Your name and for Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
