Apostle Grace Lubega
Ecclesiastes 10:4 KJV: “If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.”

Often, when people think of offences, they think of actions such as lying, cheating, stealing, or other immoral acts. However, there are deeper offences than these. A person may avoid obvious wrongdoing and still offend.
One of the greatest offences children of God must guard against is the offence that comes from failing to yield to the opportunities the Spirit of God provides. In other words, every time you resist or ignore the prompting of the Spirit, there is offence.
For example, the Spirit may be moving during a service, desiring to accomplish something in your heart. Yet, because of familiarity with His presence, you become indifferent. In such moments, there is offence—even if you are unaware of it.
These subtle and often unnoticed offences can lead to delays in destiny and stagnation where there should be progress.
Build a life of sensitivity to the spirit: respond to promptings quickly, guard against familiarity and avoid distractions while in His presence.
In building this sensitivity, you will live a life free of offence—first toward God and then toward others.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. Thank You for aligning and refining my spirit according to Your ways. I will not miss Your instructions—whether spoken clearly or whispered gently. I know when to speak and when to remain silent, when to move and when to stand still, because I am yielded to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
