Apostle Grace Lubega
Luke 10:19 (NKJV): “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Authority is the power to do something or to make things happen. In the Christian life, there are three kinds of authority that help us walk with God and fulfill His purposes.
The first is generic authority. This is the authority every believer has because Jesus gave it to all who believe. In Mark 16:17–18, Jesus said that those who believe in His name will cast out demons and heal the sick. This authority is not limited to pastors, apostles, or special people; it belongs to every believer who has faith in Christ.
The second kind of authority is authority that comes from an office or calling. Ephesians 4:11–12 says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.” Each of these offices carries a unique grace and authority to function in the role God has assigned.
The third and highest kind of authority is the authority of a seeker of God. This is the authority that flows from intimacy with the Lord, from a life of continual fellowship with Him. Acts 4:13 says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” That relationship with Christ gave them a kind of authority that no title or office could produce.
It is possible to hold a spiritual office and yet not truly seek God with your whole heart. But when you become a seeker, your authority is born out of relationship, not position. It flows from knowing God’s heart, understanding His will, and walking daily in His presence.
Remember, no matter your gift, title, or calling, your greatest strength and true authority come from seeking God and walking closely with Him every day.

GOLDEN NUGGET: No matter your gift, title, or calling, your greatest strength and true authority come from seeking God and walking closely with Him every day.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for the authority You have given me in Christ. I choose to seek You above all else, to walk in intimacy with You, and to live in obedience to Your Word. I function in true spiritual authority that flows from my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
