Psalm 107:20 (KJV); He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Today, I wish to interest you in a matter that has become a preoccupation for many men and women of God. It is the matter of counselling.
I have seen Christians make long lines to see the ‘special’ minister of God to tell him or her their very pressing problems. Some churches have days of the week set aside for counselling. Some of these counselling sessions have been so vastly abused that some ministers have been turned into therapists while some pastors use this as an opportunity to milk the flock of their financial resources.
Unfortunately, most believers who frequent these counselling sessions hardly change. They have pastors on speed dial as the ultimate answers to the slightest issue they face.
That is not how God has designed the Church to operate.
I ask the fundamental question, what about His Word? What are you ministering during that counselling session that the Christian has not been taught in a sermon? This does not mean that we should not avail ourselves as voices of counsel to the people.
But we must remember that Jesus left us His Word and His Spirit. As ministers of the gospel, we must point Christians to the Word so that they learn to fight for themselves; to build their faith and not run to a man or woman of God every time they feel under attack by the enemy. When we point men to the Word, we guarantee that they grow!

GOLDEN NUGGET: As ministers of the gospel, we must point Christians to the Word so that they learn to fight for themselves.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this knowledge. Thank You for Your Word that is a bottomless reservoir of wisdom. I have understanding and know how to draw counsel from the scriptures. My heart is tuned to the voice of the Spirit even as He guides me through the paths of life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amakanisa agamu gaateekawo ennaku ezimu mu wiiki nga za kubuulirira. Ebimu ku biseera bino eby’okubuulirira bityoboddwa nnyo nti abaweereza abamu bafuuliddwa basawo ababudaabuda ate abasumba abamu bagukozeseza ng’omukisa okukama ensimbi okuva mu ndiga zaabwe.
Eky’ennaku, abakkiriza abasinga okwetannira okubuulirira kuno tebatera kukyuka. Balina abasumba bebakubira essimu embagirawo ng’ekyokuddibwamu eky’enkomeredde singa wabeerawo ensonga entono yonna etuukawo mu maaso gaabwe.

Erizooba, ninyenda ngu ogire eki wateekateekaho, ekintu ekigiire omu mitima y’abashaija n’abakazi ba Ruhanga. Ekintu eki, n’enshonga y’obuhabuzi.
Ndeebire abakristaayo nibaza omu nyiriri ndaingwa kureeba omuheereza wa Ruhanga ow’omutaano kumugambira ebizibu byabo. Amakanisa agamwe gaine n’ebiro ebi gataireho omu sabiiti kuhabura. Bumwe omu bwire bw’obuhabuzi bukozesiibwe kubi munonga, n’abaheereza abamwe bahindukire abahumuriza kandi obwo abandi nibakozesa eki nk’omugisha gw’okukama empiiha omu ntaama.

Zaburi 107:20 (KJV); Hulituma neno lake, huwaponya, Huwatoa katika maangamizo yao.
Leo, ningependa kukuvutia katika jambo ambalo limekuwa likiwatatiza wanaume na wanawake wengi wa Mungu. Ni suala la ushauri.
Nimeona wakristo wakipanga mistari mirefu ili kumwona mtumishi ‘maalum’ wa Mungu ili kumweleza matatizo yao yanayowasumbua sana. Baadhi ya makanisa yametenga siku katika juma kwa ajili ya ushauri. Baadhi ya vikao hivyo vya ushauri nasaha vimetumiwa vibaya kwa kiasi kikubwa na baadhi ya watumishi wamegeuzwa matabibu huku baadhi ya wachungaji wakitumia fursa hiyo kukamua kundi rasilimali fedha zao.
Kwa bahati mbaya, waumini wengi ambao mara kwa mara huhudhuria vikao hivi vya ushauri huwa vigumu wabadilike. Wanao wachungaji wanaopiga simu kwa haraka kama majibu ya mwisho kwa suala dogo wanalokabiliana nalo.
Hivyo sivyo Mungu alivyopangia kanisa lifanye kazi.
Ninauliza swali la msingi, je, vipi kuhusu Neno lake? Je, unahudumu nini katika kipindi hicho cha ushauri ambacho mkristo hajafundishwa kwenye mahubiri? Hii haimaanishi kwamba tusijitoe kama sauti za ushauri kwa watu.
Lakini tunapaswa kukumbuka kwamba Yesu alituachia Neno lake na Roho wake. Kama wahudumu wa injili, ni lazima tuwaelekeze wakristo kwenye Neno ili wajifunze kujipigania wenyewe; kujenga imani yao na si kumkimbilia mwanamume au mwanamke wa Mungu kila wakati wanapohisi kushambuliwa na adui. Tunapowaelekeza watu kwenye Neno, tunahakikisha kwamba wanakua!
