Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Peter 3:3-4 (KJV); Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
In yesterday’s devotion, we learnt that a meek and quiet spirit is very valuable to God. Part of its value is in the fact that it can easily hear God and that it can watch in prayer.
The question then is; how does a man quiet his spirit? The starting point is in meditation.
People who have learnt how to meditate on God and His Word have exercised their spirits to be quiet before Him.
Meditation focuses the mind on our Lord and His Word. The more you practice it, the less your mind wanders to inconsequential subjects in prayer.
Remember, Godly meditation is not about emptying your mind. You should know that an empty mind is indeed the devil’s workshop.
Rather, in Godly meditation, we fill our Spirits with His Word and His essence.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. Thank You for teaching me how to meditate on You and Your Word. In meditation, I am aligned to spiritual realities like never before. My spirit is quietened, far from anxiety and distraction. As I grow in meditation, I am launched deeper into Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
