Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 12:18-22 (KJV); For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
In a previous devotion, we learnt that God’s voice has several expressions. These may include the breaking of the cedars, thunder or even fire (Psalm 29:3-7). However, many people are caught up in the expression and miss the instruction. This should not be the same for a New Testament Christian.
From our theme scripture, He tells us that we have not come to a mountain that burns with fire. In essence, the Lord is telling us that we have not come to a mountain where God’s voice is primarily in the expressions of fire, blackness and tempest. We have come to Zion, the place of hearing God clearly and distinctly.
As such, when you say, ‘I am a child of Zion’, you mean, ‘I hear God.’ Of Zion, the Bible says, “And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” (Isaiah 33:24).
Why is disease far from the inhabitants of Zion? Because they hear God. Your spiritual dwelling place is of people who hear the Lord. You live in an atmosphere where His voice rings with clarity.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I am a child of Zion and hear You in a clearer way every day. In any place and at any time, Your voice is my guide and light, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
