Respect for the Recompense

Respect for the Recompense

Apostle Grace Lubega

Hebrews 11:24-26 (KJV); By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

There are things you must endure in the gospel because you have respect unto the recompense of the reward.

Paul describes a man who has respect for the recompense in 2 Corinthians 6:3-5. He says; “Giving no offence in anything, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings…”

You may meet people who will take away from your labours; who will seek to break the things you build, those who will try to stamp out the fire that burns on your altar.

Inspite of their wickedness, you choose to love when you are hated, choose to settle even when you are right and pray for those who fight you.

Esteem the reproach of Christ above anything else.

Live above the actions and words of your accusers.

You would rather bear the reproach of Christ than fight to appear right before men. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET:

Choose to love when you are hated, choose to settle even when you are right, and pray for those who fight you. You would rather bear the reproach of Christ than fight to appear right before men.

PRAYER: Father, I am grateful for your Word. I hold the gospel closest to my heart and can never do anything that brings shame to the ministry and the gospel. Thank you for the grace to endure what I must endure, for the love that covers a multitude of wrongs and for the patience that causes me to continually believe in people. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
