Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Peter 4:8 (KJV); And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
One of the characteristics of a proper family is that the members love each other enough to cover each other and protect their own from the critical judgments of strangers and outsiders.
Only in dysfunctional families do brothers and sisters, parents, and relatives take to social media to character assassinate their own or bleed on people that did not cut them.
Is the Church of God a family? Yes! Alas, how often we prove how dysfunctional it is!
If we are the body of Christ, the household of God, why do we sharpen our tongues with glee when a sister or brother makes a mistake? If we are the body, why do we take pleasure in fanning the flames of gossip about the failures of our own? If we are the body, why do we reject the possibility of seeking restoration and pursue the path of least resistance, which is to tell the whole world how bad other Christians are?
When will the Church get to the point where they will seek first to pray for and protect their own when they make mistakes?
The world must not learn from us everything that is wrong with the Church. The love of God must teach us to cover our own and to do it in wisdom.

GOLDEN NUGGET: The world must not learn from us everything that is wrong with the Church. The love of God must teach us to cover our own and to do it in wisdom.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for Your love as revealed to my heart. This love teaches me to pray for and not judge my brothers and sisters in the body of Christ. This love causes me to seek restoration and not condemnation. This love causes me to defend the Church because I am a member and what happens to one man happens to me too, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
