The Consciences Of Men

Apostle Grace Lubega

1 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV); Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.

The conscience is that part in us that hears God.

Our theme scripture reveals that there are people whose consciences have been seared.

There are many things that sear the conscience. They may include listening to the wrong doctrine, polluting oneself with the perversions in today’s media or even believing evil reports.

When one’s conscience is seared, his or her heart is hardened towards God.

This hardness of heart is not only rebellion towards God, but the place where one relates too easily with the carnal life as opposed to the supernatural.

The wonderful news is, regardless of how much a man’s conscience has been seared, there is always a thin layer that remains for that man to still hear God. No one is beyond hope!

When ministering to people, the extent to which that person’s conscience has been seared determines how deep the Word you minister must cut in order to get past the seared places to the part which can still hear God.

That is why, the more indifferent people are to the Word of God, the deeper you preach it. The more they fight and misinterpret the message, the deeper you delve into it. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET:

When ministering to people, the extent to which that person’s conscience has been seared determines how deep the Word you minister must cut in order to get past the seared places to that part which can still hear God. That is why, the more indifferent people are to the Word of God, the deeper you preach it. The more they fight and misinterpret the message is the deeper you delve into it.

PRAYER: My heavenly father, I am thankful for your Word. It cuts asunder, separates bone and marrow and reaches into the deepest parts of my heart. This Word is spirit and life and with it, I zealously guard my heart. I receive the right instruction, my conscience is pure and always clear to hear your voice with clarity.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
